So what do demons do all day

I like the chess idea, but of course he doesn’t know the rules and cheats (despite playing with him self). Perhaps it has a split personality. Demon “Hey you can’t move that there!” Demon “Yes I can, you did last game!” Demon “What! Are you accusing me of cheating you! Arrgghh! You over...

House rules to keep my "Thieves Guild" campaign from getting out of control

Don't forget counter magics! If an invisibility spell seems to powerful, have any important areas guarded by 'see invisibity zones' that prevent it spoiling inapropriate parts. And have these security devices cheep and easy to attain. An experienced thief will know how to get past or disable...

    Item Idea

Sorry, I can't remember the price for the dummy, and as ive said before my books are never availlible while im online (posiblely changeing when I might get broadband at home). I might just write it down for you, but...I might not...hard to explain why. :( Anyone else got the book? :\

A Campaign Setting for Young Beginning Players

I like the sound of it. When I think of it I imagine a 11 year old in a large stereotypical wizards hat, another with a short bow thats obviously more like a long bow, and one with a long sword more like a greatsword. There would be countless treasures and items just left over to picked up...

    Item Idea

Theres one that already does just that, The Sparring Dummy in the equipment guide. Its only for monks though and requires 'training time' to get it powers, but then they're permanent. You could just toy with it a little and you've already got a reasonable price guide.

The Penny Game (falling items question)

I perfect example of a clever bugger working out how to take advantage of the complex spell system. :D At that size it would be hard to land it in a 'square' and not hit anything. Its just ensureing you can hit the right spot. Also remember that the common 20ft thrown increment is very much...

Poly'ing into Dragon: what age category?

This is where the shapechange spell becomes very nice. :) hmm...doesn't shapechange allow extraondinary an Supernatural abilitys? So includeing the dragons alternate form?

A small benefit to jump and tumble

Jumping extrodinary heights isn't quite total fantasy. Heard of free running? There was a group of french free runners (the people who started it I think) who were invited to london to give a kind of show that would take place all over london and where ever they wanted to go. At one point the...

Epic Levels Without Ridiculous Amounts of Wealth?

That is an interesting idea. Doesn't really solve the epic cost problems as it changes things to make mountains of gold essential instead, and enforces the problem further. But I like the Idea. It at least works for normal items. IMC Spell Writing Kits are required to write spells. These 'kits'...

    Wendigo

Seems neat. likely needs a level adjustment. I particualary like the Spiritual Eyes, and youv'e given me a cool idea for a new Singular (rare person with a strange and extrodinary talent) in my campain. What do you plan on useing it for?

    The Jester's Deck

Added two more cards. Queen of Clubs: Next Card happens to someone you know "This card is not for you, and neither is the next" (another pops out of deck) The DM should think of an apropriate NPC to take the card, this need not be before the second card is drawn. This means you can think of...

Epic Levels Without Ridiculous Amounts of Wealth?

Not haveing a very large personal libary, I don't know that rule/system, but It sounds a little like what im thinking. heres my thinking... Think about what the gold costs actually represent. For magic items I imagine an asortment of magical 'ingredients', perhaps magic insence to create an...

Epic Levels Without Ridiculous Amounts of Wealth?

Although Ive never ran or played an epic game, I dont see that money would be as important once you get to the ledgendary status. In a normal society, these people could get just about what ever they need or want (I dont mean stealing). A kingdom would happily suply their heroes with as much...

    Power armor?

Just trying to get wht you mean straight. Do you mean the PCs, of ye olde times, come across a advanced civilisation (or just a few people) of techo times? In my d20 future game power armour grants a strength bonus of +4 but has a max dex bonus of 0. I use a damage reduction system for armours...

    Alignments: Team America Style

A good sense of sarcasim is essential, if you take the film seriously you'll just be offended. I loved it, though i've allways wonderd how they manage to take the piss out of so many people without being sued into the ground.

Is D&D 3.5 your first role playing game

Really I started properly with 3.5, but I had played for a while under 3e with a friend. He was unlucky, he started almost right on the release for 3.5 and as a result and being new etc, he got a mix of editions, with the 3e PHB and DMG, but the 3.5 MM. :\ It didn't have a massive impact on...

    Best Rules for Automatic Weapons

Im going to use the star wars auto fire system, and a damage reduction armour system partly based partly on glass jaws grim tales varient rule set. No system Ive seen has been completly satisfactory though. Automatic weapons just seem like they were never meant to be used with dice, actions and...

    moldy bread and the seductress

My 12 year old sister wanted to play once; I didn't take it tremendously seriously but I thought I'd let her have a go. The game went nowhere since she based her opinion of the classes by their pictures and couldn't get over the idea that tosters, electric ovens and plastic (and a lot more too)...

DMs: How Much of Your Prep Work Never Gets Used??

Running two partys in one campain world like I am, It can be quite a shame that half of my work is never seen by one group or the other. I always have to decide whether this or that party would fit the adventre more and who would most apreciate it (puting aside ones that are based around or...
