Asmodeus ~ 2nd Ed. concept no longer relevant

Wasn't Orcus slain by Kiaransalee? In 3E canon, let me get my FRCS, she is a Demigod. So I don't think they will make him anything more than that, unless he has gained a lot of power since returning from the dead in "Lost Gods".

RPGs prohibited in a Brazilian city...

Hear! Hear! P.S.: Você sabe se a HB ainda vende RPG? Eu morei em Brasília em 95 e era lá que eu comprava meus livros. Comprei meu Campaign Setting de Birthright aí. Boas lembranças... :)

RPGs prohibited in a Brazilian city...

Claudio, just to make sure you are kept up to date, "Gibiteria" (a famous RPG and Hobby store here in Rio - for those not from Brasil) has been bringing us most supplements. I've been there the day before yesterday, and there were all kinds of nice things just arriving. Brand new shipment...

    Interesting fact about Dragon SRs.

The problem is the Red Great Wyrm is a CR 25 creature, while the White Great Wyrm is a CR 20 one. Unless the DM is a sadistic person (a distinct possibility :D ), he won't throw a Red Great Wyrm at the same group he was going to throw a White Great Wyrm at. If he goes by the book, he will give...

    Interesting fact about Dragon SRs.

To clarify things a bit, I'll use my own response to a reply posted in the Wizards forum: My problem is that EVERY dragon is almost exactly the same at a similar CR, negating the differences between species while actual use of the dragons as opponents is concerned. With the CR system, the...

    Interesting fact about Dragon SRs.

I don't know if anyone has talked about this before, but searches didn't come up with any results, so I'll start a fresh topic. Did people notice that the Spell Resistance (SR) of almost all dragon types is fixed by CR? Take, for example, CR 20. Excepting the Red and the Brass, all other...

    Army size?

Since someone requested it, here's some information about a third world country's army: Brazil 170 Million population about 400 Hundred thousand in the armed forces (army, air force and navy) 0.23% of the population are in the regular armed forces. It actually all depends on militarization...

[Purity Test] Who's the "purest" gamer here?

You scored 159 out of a possible 490. That's 32.45% for you math-geek types. Congratulations! That makes me a veteran.. :D

    Monster Manual II

Those monsters are hardly "new". The Tomb Tapper (I prefer Thaalud) has been around at least since 2E, and I believe the Athach exists since 1E.

    Good Non d20 systems?

I still love Earthdawn and Warhammer very much. I believe the first has been out of the market for quite some time, but Warhammer is getting some support from Hogshead. Earthdawn is, IMHO, still the best fantasy RPG system out there, SPECIALLY the way magical items are handled.

    Favorite FRCS Prestige Class

I didn't know your specific take on this, so my vote is double: For sheer power, the Archmage; For sheer coolness, the Hathran.

What categories do you belong to?

1 - Was one. No longer. Now I just play some games and do my College work in it. 2 - I like to shave my head. If that falls into non-standard for you, then I'm in. 3 - Nope. 4 - Yep. 5 - Yep. 6 - Probably. 7 - OH YES! 8 - Nope, I'm a Socialist (if that was your angle when you said...

[OT] Lotr:FotR is now an Oscar winner

And that would fail to work in the screen for what reason, specifically? Does requiring the viewer to introspect, and think, preclude a movie from being effective? I am still convinced it could have been done shorter if it was done as a true adaptation. And FIs and FOs are not the only ways to...

[OT] Lotr:FotR is now an Oscar winner

I enjoyed the movie. Heck, I watched it 4 times! As I said before, I cannot argue against ABM, since I didn't either read the book or watch the movie. And repeating, enjoying the movie does not preclude me from being critical of it.

[OT] Lotr:FotR is now an Oscar winner

Again, isn't pacing one of the things that makes a script qualify for best adaptated screenplay? It's not just reproducing the situations which happen in the book, it's giving the viewer about the same impression as it gives to the reader. I don't know who should win, since I did not see A...

[OT] Lotr:FotR is now an Oscar winner

Hum, sorry, butI believe "adapted" should not mean "mangled". And the book WOULD translate well to the big screen if they just used a bit more fade ins and fade outs to demonstrate the passage of time, instead of throwing around the viewer into a thriller, with everything that this choice...

[OT] Lotr:FotR is now an Oscar winner

If facial expressions qualified anyone to win an Oscar, a trained Chimpanzee could win it every year.... And I certainly think LotR: FotR does NOT deserve to win Best Adapted Screenplay. It was not a very good adaptation of the book, because it was at variance with the pace of the book so many...

    I want Call of Cthulu!

have you seen the new stream of supplements coming out from Chaosium? Keeper's Companion, Investigator's Companion, The Complete Masks of Nyarlathotep, and several others. Chaosium is already taking advantage of the fact that D20 will make CoC a more mainstream game. Indeed, I believe WotC...
