    Scarred Lands

Thanks for the rundown on Necropolis Nightfall. Indeed, I think a campaign for a SLCS would become necessary if I can't find it in stores in the next couple of months... :D Now, seriously, I talked to the guy at my store and he promised he would bring one of those in the next shipping, as...

    Scarred Lands

Usually, when I compare the Scarred Lands to Forgotten Realms, I tend to think of a setting where the Good Guys (TM) are in trouble, as opposed to being the dominant force (although things seem to be changing over in FR - could add a lot more interesting things to the setting if everything...

Any monsters get -weaker- in 3e

The difference is most certainly not negated. My past Dragonlance campaign went up to 15th level (this is 3E, not 2E), and the group's Paladin simply could not MISS his first attack. Only the iterative attacks had a real chance of failure. With the BAB of a fighter, the buffing spells of the...

    Paladins

Re: Paladins are cool I recognize the M109A6, but what is that Crusader thingie? Is it based on a Challenger chassis or a Warrior one? The number of wheels seems to suggest a challenger was the basis, but the shape of the base structure seems rather similar to the Warrior...intriguing vehicle...

Any thoughts on the Warhammer Role Playing Game?

I still have not convinced my group to play WFRP, even though I love the system. It's a very lethal, "realistic" (whatever that means), system, something of a mixture between D&D and Call of Cthulhu. The world is kind of a "fantasy Europe", much like Ars Magica, but less connected with the...

Great advice! Listen to this man! :D

1001 Nonfiction Books That D&Ders will want to read.

Here are my suggestions. 50 - War in the Middle Ages, by Philippe Contamine; 51 - The Medieval Village, by G. G. Coulton; 52 - A Military History of the Western World, volume 1 - From the earliest times to the Battle of Lepanto, by J. F. C. Fuller; 53 - Medieval Warfare, by Hans Delbrück...

    Core Books in other languages??

Here in Brazil we got all 3 Core Rulebooks translated, plus Sword & Fist, Defenders of the Faith and a slew of adventures.

    The Quintessential D&D Artist.

Well, the original poster comes back a day later... :) Please understand I don't have my books with me now, just as I didn't have them on hand when I posted the topic. This lead me to pick artists from memory. Of course, those who were fresher in my mind were the 3E artists and those 2E...

    The Quintessential D&D Artist.

So, after long discussions in the MM2 art gallery thread, I decided to post a poll to discover who people consider the quintessential D&D artist, past and present. Since I don't have many of my books with me right now, I probably will forget someone, so I will put those forgotten people in the...

    Monster Manual II Art Gallery!

Man, I have most of those Kaluta pics in my huge Tolkien folder! And I like most of them! I just never got really interested in knowing who made the pics. Kaluta can surely draw WAY better than his work for D&D shows. About Angus, I really dislike his work. Most of the time it is too bright...

    Monster Manual II Art Gallery!

Is there any site where we can see the pictures of that calendar (even if they must be the size of my thumb)? I just would like to believe the guy can do a good job.

    Marilith´s CR

I second that. The Creature Catalogue version of the Ultroloth is much more powerful. Rather in line with the 2E Ultroloth.

    Monster Manual II Art Gallery!

Wait a second. People actually LIKE Glen Angus? I must be confusing the guy with someone else. Wasn't it Glen Angus who did Apollo in D&Dg? And also the queer (to use a Lovecraftian word) Corellon Larethian? Please tell me we are not talking about the same guy.... My favorite artists are...

    Monster Manual II Art Gallery!

This must be it. I REALLY dislike Wayne Reynolds (if that's the one you were talking about). All those extra large hands and arms simply don't ring a bell with me.

The magic system of the new LOFR RPG...

What is the reasoning behind the existence of those wizards? Are they Maia like Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast? And what is their power level compared to the rest of the group? Can a warrior type actually go to an adventure with a wizard and expect to be useful? Is there any restriction on the...

    Monster Manual II Art Gallery!

If the art displayed in the gallery is what we are going to really see in the finished product, I am VERY disappointed. I thought the overall level of the art of MM was superior to the one displayed in the site for MM2. Heck, most art present in CC2 is better than the one in the gallery! I am...

Anyone else having trouble rationalizing CoC sanity loss?

GREAT post! That is exactly how every major Lovecraftian analyst or author sees the matter, and it matches my vision of his universe.

Anyone else moving away from D20?

My group plays Earthdawn, several White Wolf games (but mostly Mage), Warhammer FRP, Star Wars D6, Call of Cthulhu BRP and D&D 3E. So, we never really got totally into D20. We never abandoned the other systems.
