DMG2 blurb on Amazon. Attention Planescape fans!

No, but it is the lynchpin. You can't have Planescape without Sigil. Otherwise, it's just plane hopping.

When was YOUR Golden Age of Gaming?

Mid 80's I had my own game with my school friends and a community center (Studio of Bridge and Games) that had a number of talented DMs running games. It was very cool being a part of a community of gamers. There was one big campaign where people solicited help from gamers from other tables...

Wrath of the River King - Wolfgang Baur's Open Design

That's not really the point, at least from my perspective: Vinitor dignat sui aeris. Etsi ars fecit paucis, artifex debet sivisse vendere multis.

    "By the power of ..."

Actually, the Shadowfell, which I'm calling Gehenna, isn't a jail so much as you can see it from there. Everything dead, broken or lost ends up there. The next level down you can see and visit the Clanking City of Dis. There the Iron Sun is much more visible. If you want to do all the way...

Wrath of the River King - Wolfgang Baur's Open Design

If that's true, the prices have vastly increased since I was a patron. $25 was the workhorse level. There were higher levels that bought more access, but I didn't find them cost effective. I was happy with what I received in return for my money. But, if I had to pay $100 for what I received for...

Wrath of the River King - Wolfgang Baur's Open Design

Close. That's the idea, but just for semantics sake and speaking from my own experience: I paid $25. That gave me access to design journals, polls to guide monster, encounter and theme development. There was a community of patrons that could discuss aspects that we liked and disliked, with...

Wrath of the River King - Wolfgang Baur's Open Design

Huh? No, if you are a patron you get a copy. You can get a spiffy color, hardback copy from Lulu if you want to pay the extra amount. The amount of influence you have over its direction is dependant on how much you invest. Also there are other benefits with higher contributions.

Wrath of the River King - Wolfgang Baur's Open Design

I don't know how it is now, but when I was a patron from Empire of the Ghouls, I had the option to purchase the previous project, Shadowcrag (I think.). So, if you wish to be a patron of the next project you may have to option of buying the previous (this) one. I do find the concept a bit...

    "By the power of ..."

I need some brainstorming help. I’m a top-down kinda DM, and I’ve been tinkering with my cosmology for a while in preparation for conversion to 4e. At the two ends of creation are the Obelisk and the Maelstrom, the sources of law and chaos, respectively. Creation lies in the space between...

    Treasures For The God-King!

When one of my players designed his citadel his treasure room had an interesting trap. If you were able to get through the hallway of death and opened the final doors without the key everything in the room was disintigrated. The final trap was armed by some fraction of the tricks and traps being...

    D&D 4E Homebrew setting I'll use for 4e

Hm. Could a plateau that had a sloping side build a dyke to keep out the mist? You could have a city or some land surrounded by a massive wall that creaks or thumps ominously when something nasty bumps into it. I'm also imagining a city built up on a platform stretching off of a plateau held...

    I need an Engineering job

Thinking about it, we recently hired some new technicians. During the interview process the ones that I liked: Were clean and well groomed. Smiled. Looked interested at their surroundings. Asked questions which demonstrated ignorance but an interest to learn. Asked questions which demonstrated...

    I need an Engineering job

Pbartender is giving you some good advice. Unless there is some certification or professional boards that you have to qualify for, offering to work for free is a bad move. Companies that are hiring professionals are hiring for talent. Talent doesn't work for free. Now, in pharmacy there are...

    All D&D trolls are male?

Yes, and all hags are female. And, they both like swamps. Hag claws do a lot of damage, but trolls regenerate. Wise folk stay out of the swamps at the full of the moon, when those haunting calls echo out into the fog...

What are some of your favorite Magic Items from previous editions?

Staff of the Magi. I gave that to a friend playing a magic-user back in the day. He was thrilled to have a staff that could cast light and enlarge. He was very careful about spending charges, because enlarging the party's fighter was just so useful. He was 2-3rd level, I think. One day the...

Spotlight Interview: John Rogers on the Manual of the Planes

Oh. I guess I did. It's been a while. :) It was fun, and we enjoyed watching it, but I took my notes using wikipedia. :D
