That's pretty dismissive and unfair. I'm not sure what's got your goat here; it's a subgenre of fantasy fiction.

Sword & Sorcery is about personal stakes. The protagonist isn't going to save the world; at best, maybe they're saving a city, and it's usually unintentional (see: antihero).

Thought on it more; I said I'd use B/X if it were feasible, and I would.. but using online VTT character sheets it's not really feasible cuz you'd need to alter the entire system. SO the best possible (feasible) thing to do there is to max 18 the "mortal" cap instead of 20.
