    D&D 5E (2014) Plot points

Yeah, this is pretty common in indie games. It's innovative for D&D, anyway. Well, aside from Paizo's Plot Twist cards...okay, it's innovative for something that says Dungeons and Dragons on the cover. :)

D&D Surges Into Lead In Orr Group Figures

Impressive. Of course, a user is probably just someone who has signed in at least once. But impressive, nonetheless.

A million users? Do you have a link to these claims? I find it highly unlikely.

FANTASY GROUNDS Virtual Tabletop's D&D License!

I'm a long time, if very irregular, user of FG. When War of the Burning Sky first came out for 3.5e, I bought some FG licenses to play it online. We didn't need to play online, we just wanted to try it out. That campaign only lasted a half dozen sessions before player availability changed to...

    Princes of the Apocalypse

5 out of 5 rating for Princes of the Apolocalypse I don't tend to enjoy reading adventures, but this one has been fun to read. I'm happy that my current campaign can use this as it's endgame with a only a few adjustments.

[UPDATED: CONFIRMED!] Wheaton's Game: Putting Together The Clues!

I love the DA setting. Dragon Age: Inquisition was probably my favorite game from last year. It was the system. It was both too simple and and too confusing for the rookie GM running it. The stunt system seems cool, but it's clunky in play, and without that it's just a lot of roll and hit...

[UPDATED: CONFIRMED!] Wheaton's Game: Putting Together The Clues!

The show will be excellent, I'm sure. The TT episodes of Dragon Age and Fiasco were among the best ones. But I really don't care what game they play. I don't think that will be that big a factor in how well the show goes. I ended up buying DA because of the show, and played with other fans of...

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

This isn't about 50 years of a published setting. The book is the behind-the-scenes about how FR came about. If Ed started creating it 50 years ago, then the book is going to span 50 years of it's maturation to what it is now. No one said it's "50 years old" or that there's any birthdays...

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

If you don't find Ed's contribution important, than you're free to ignore it. Just as he's free to tell people about it. There are plenty of biographies and historical books on store shelves that I have no interest in, but I don't have a problem with people writing them.

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

This is my take. It's not campaign fluff, it's the real life history of the creation of the setting.

All he has to do is spell it like that, and he's golden!

D&D 5E (2014) Am I the only one that dislikes Adventure Paths?

Sounds like the OP is a player, so he does have to play what the DM runs. Peronsally, I don't like running APs because I find them boring. Being the go-between for words on a page and the players isn't my idea of a good time. A much better approach is the plot point design of campaigns...

So What IS Happening to Tabletop Roleplaying Games? Dancey & Mearls Let You Know!

There's nothing wrong with that, I'm sure a lot of roleplayers are in the same boat. But if WotC wants to explore new avenues to further the brand, it's not necessarily a bad thing. If they are successful, the revenue streams form other sources help prop up the more niche core RPG, as well as...

So What IS Happening to Tabletop Roleplaying Games? Dancey & Mearls Let You Know!

I tried running my recently ended 13th Age campaign in bite-sized 4-hour episodic chunks. Extremely unsatisfying experiment, I won't run a game like that again. For me, a game needs a narrative flow between the GM and players, and that should be allowed to take as long as it takes.

D&D 5E (2014) Reasons Why My Interest in 5e is Waning

I'm in the same boat. I already have shelves full of stuff I can use with this game if I don't want to make my own stuff. And I'm still quite enjoying the playing the game. I get that some want new shinies for the game, I'm just not part of that audience.

New Cooperative D&D Video Game Allows a DM To Run The Adventure

Huh, apparently it could be played over LAN. Probably a good reason I didn't know that. One can tell it was certainly created to be a one player game.

It's works in DA, too. But those are solo games. I can't of a real time co-op that lets anyone pause the game.

New Cooperative D&D Video Game Allows a DM To Run The Adventure

I have some, "fool me once with NWN, shame on me, fool me twice with this, shame on you," scepticism. But the Baldur's Gate and DA:O comparisons, and no scripting necessary brings me a little cautious optimism. Never heard of the companies that are working on it, but hey, it's not Obsidian. :p
