This happened last time we played. The enemy kept getting hit with 2 arrows a round, so he decided he was tired of it and tried to sunder the archer's bow. The archer got lucky (kept rolling 20's on the opposed roll), but it still scared the crap out of him.

Generally it causes too much trouble and too much book keeping. Who cast haste? How about Bull Strength on the fighter? Bulls Strength on the Rogue? How about fly? It gets ugly too fast. As a DM I've found it usually helps you more than hurts you. Hopefully you can turn that one back on him...

You wont be disappointed. I hate AD&D with a passion after a while. It just wasn't fun to me anymore. 3e however, I've been playing pretty much exclusively since it came out. Its much better done, more complete, and more fun. Enjoy.

Theres a mask in PsiHB that gives +4 vs compulsions and enchantments. Would make the perfect template. Mask of Mind Shield, or something like that (don't have the book handy). But since both Psi and Magic items follow the same rule it would make a good guideline.

Very true. I was just using it as an example, since he talked about big items that take the better part of a year. Perhaps a better example would have been Ring of Elemental Command (which would take a monstrous 200 days to make). Though techincally, you could even make that one ability at a time.
