    Movies which surprised you.

Jerry Maguire. I was surprised to see that Tom Cruise can actually act on occasion. :D

The Sixth Sense. Absolutely did not see it coming.

OOC - Planescape: A Hopeless Beginning

I'll edit it. Sorry for the mix-up.

EN World Pigskin Pick'em (Updated 12.27.05 - Week 16 results posted)

I took the Bengals. Indy may be a better team, but they have to have a bad week sometime and I'm banking on this week. :)

    Planescape: A Hopeless Beginning

OOC: Nope, just a misunderstanding. I thought she was willing to lend us a few basics regardless. My mistake. Of course, Krikit could have gotten it wrong, too. :)

    where would you go?

Teach them to play Papers and Paychecks instead. They need escapism. :) Strangely enough, even though I hated the books, I think I'd have to choose Stephen Donaldson's world (The Land, right?). You see, my wedding ring is white gold...

    Cave of the Spiders OOC

Hmm. Things aren't looking good for Donnybrook. The rest of the party are plotting against him and the rogue's gone all schizophrenic. :D Action post coming up. EDIT: D'oh! No it's not. Waiting for jdvn1 to tell me who he's buffing and with what before the mayhem starts. If he doesn't...

    Planescape: A Hopeless Beginning

"Ah," Krikit says, spotting Vaerhia. "There you are, dear lady. I was wondering what had happened to you. Care to join us?"

So I want to make a zombie character...

Libris Mortis is 3.5. You could probably use either the Wight or Vampire Spawn class progressions provided there. They give you the undead creature's abilities over several levels, so if you take all the levels of the class you end up looking pretty much like what's described in the MM. If...

    Editing Whine

While I understand that paying extra editors might not be worthwhile, I'm certain you could find competent proofreaders who would be willing to work for free product. I can think of at least one right off the top of my head... :) On a big project you could get a small cadre of them (5 or 10...

    Peter Pan Fashion

You know, I just got done reading the actual book Peter Pan for the first time (with my daughter). The body count in that book is remarkable. People die left and right (though none of the main characters) and Peter is described at one point as having a habit of wandering off and sometimes...

    Men or Monsters?

I enjoy the combat variety that comes with monsters, but most of the antagonists in my campaign are humanoids (mostly humans, actually). To mix it up a bit, I use a lot of summoning magic. A common magic item in my game is a one-use summon gadget, so that tough fighter you're mixing it up with...

What kind of a character builder are you?

I do like Umbran (on those rare occasions I get to play rather than GM) but the concepts I come up with have a tendancy to be broad rather than deep. So I almost always multi-class. And at some point in a character's career, it's great to give them a tie to an organization in the campaign...

    Barnes & Noble's D&D Online Course

I think it's a great idea. And this whole BNU thing is way cool. How are they making money? Advertising? I'm tempted to check out the D&D course myself, but I don't think we should fill it up with people who already know the game. Kind of defeats the purpose. :) I'm looking at the writing...

    Cave of the Spiders OOC

To answer jdvn1's question in the in-char thread: you have from 1-6 rounds before they notice you. I'm off to roll now, and I'll let you know when your time's up, so post here which spells you are casting on whom and in which order, and I'll let you know how many of them actuall go off before...

    Thread Drinking Game

Every time someone says the sorcerer is under-powered, take a drink. If responses to the above post include mention of the warlock, warmage AND Battle Sorcerer, drain your glass.

How about every time Infiniti posts? That way we'd all get good and hammered but probably won't die.

Tinkering with a kid-friendly, adult-exciting setting featuring Dragons and Faeries

Kahuna, that's a great idea. I'm impressed. And a "blighted" template can't be far behind. :)

Tinkering with a kid-friendly, adult-exciting setting featuring Dragons and Faeries

My daughter has a book called "Ignis." It's about a dragon (named Ignis, obviously) who can't find his fire. It's an ok story, but the art is absolutely gorgeous. Lots of visual inspiration if you need it.
