D&D 5E (2014) Faded Ink / Smudging Ink in PHB

Occasional light fading; nothing that affects usability. No smudging yet.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th edition stat-block concern: Saving throws

Given the formatting, that's clearly not the case. For example, take a look at the sphyinx entry. But even if it were, as a DM I personally find ease-of-use to be a primary concern in a book like this -- I'd rather have the information available quickly and without a second glance so I can keep...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th edition stat-block concern: Saving throws

I like much of 5E, but one thing about stat blocks bothers me. Stat blocks only include the "Saves" line if the creature in question is proficient in one or more saves. Further, when there *is* a saves line, only the specific saving throws with which the creature is proficient are included...

D&D 5E (2014) Instant gratification versus saving money

I just picked up two copies at the FLGS (one for myself, one for a friend), and I have another copy pre-ordered on Amazon (for the wife). I'll probably buy just one copy of the MM and DMG, and I'll likely get those at the FLGS.

D&D 5E (2014) Is it just me or does it look like we are getting the "must have feats" once again?

Maybe I'm coming to this discussion late, but wouldn't EA have been fine something like: Choose an element (fire, cold, sonic, acid, etc.). Your spells ignore elemental resistance of this type, and treat immunity to this type as resistance. This feat can be taken multiple times, blah blah blah.

This is my new all-time favorite monster book (13th Age Bestiary)

You're welcome. You had me at "ridiculously large crossbow" (or whatever it was called -- I don't have the book in front of me).

This is my new all-time favorite monster book (13th Age Bestiary)

You did some amazing work. In fact, the Bugbear entry is what sold the book to me while browsing at the FLGS. :)

D&D 5E (2014) A viable game and the vicious edition cycle

Completely agree that Pathfinder is suffering a severe case of bloat. Personally, I'd love a revision, but the concept of a 2nd edition seems to be an anathema on the Paizo boards.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

I really, really hope WotC wises up and releases the rules in PDF. Not doing so would simply drive players who prefer PDFs into the arms of competitors. :(

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

No worries. I can understand hyperbole fatigue, especially on the Internets. ...and thanks for the apology. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Crossbow confusion

Maybe it's just a question being able to conceal it and fire it one-handed? Though put me in the "I hope there is a mechanical difference which we're just not seeing yet" camp.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

Understood. I was more using Hero Lab as an example of the type of problem that can occur. I don't necessarily need to use Hero Lab specifically, either.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

No offense taken, and no ultimatum implied. I'm buying 5E no matter what, and just want to see it succeed.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

I understand that EN World is not affiliated with WotC. It was intended as an open letter to be discussed, but if it violates the rules or you feel it is otherwise counter-productive, please feel free to remove it.

D&D 5E (2014) Lots Of Art (and some Warlock stuff)

I am not, and have never been, a fan of WAR. Agree it looks totally XXTreme! But not everything has to appeal to me, and I love the rest of the art. ;)

    D&D 5E (2014) Dear WotC: D&D 5, Hero Lab, and the OGL

Dear WotC: Over on the Lone Wolf forums there is a discussion about Hero Lab supporting 5E. The gist is that their hands are tied until you releases news on 5E licensing. This is exactly what I feared would happen. You should have learned from 4E and embraced the OGL early and publicly for...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

I think Burnt Offerings (http://paizo.com/products/btpy7zkr?Pathfinder-1-Rise-of-the-Runelords-Chapter-1-Burnt-Offerings) qualifies; it was written for 3.5.

    D&D 5E (2014) Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

I like Basic overall, but the PDF needs a quick revision to fix a few bugs: The version # is all over the place The pages numbers are backwards -- that is, in a printed copy the page numbers end up near the spine, rather on the outer edge of the page Rather than releasing a separate...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Unboxing Starter Set Video is on Youtube

So if I'm nauseated by the incessant arguing in this thread, but then I get up and go to the bathroom, come back, and get nauseated again, is that broken? :]
