    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

Lol. That's obviously not what he was referring to. Don't be willfully obtuse.

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

Assuming the "very robust 5e auto-generating charater sheet" you mention still exists, it sounds like exactly the sort of thing Wizards is targeting. But really, is your argument actually that WotC is doing a bang-up job in the digital space because someone, somewhere has temporarily avoided...

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

Just like they kept playing 4E, AMIRITE? The fact is, a company's actions matter. As for the importance of digital itself...agree to disagree. I don't play or run 5E, strictly because of the digital situation; therefore, I can state with 100% confidence that at least one customer has been...

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

On that, at least, we agree. And meanwhile the months roll by with NO tools, NO PDFs, and NO digital options. If they're not careful, they're going to "protect" 5E into an early grave.

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

This is usually the part where someone says "but WotC has more information than some random guy on the Internet. They must know what they're doing!" Yeah, well I watched them "information" 4E into an early grave...an exercise they seem hell-bent on repeating with 5E. Fixing it would be...

    C&Ds for Online D&D 5E Character Generators

That is precisely what will happen if they don't change direction right quick. Unfortunately, they seem determined to party like it's 1999. The fact that 5E is such a good game just makes it that much more painful to watch. :(

It's just like I always say: If at first (or second, or third) you don't succeed, call in the lawyers.

    Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box

5 out of 5 rating for Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box In my thirty years of table-top RPGs, this is the most complete starter set I've ever seen. Re-usable play surface? Check. Nice-looking tokens? Check. GM advice includes everything from dungeon hazards to map symbols. Add a...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

Seriously? That must be a style option or something; ENWorld appears with a off-white/light grey background for me. For the record, it is "Just say NO to system bloat." :)

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Cited in Hasbro Quarterly Report as Revenue Increase for Hasbro

On one hand, it's nice to see D&D mentioned. On the other hand, it was in the same breath as Connect 4. :P

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

In many ways, I have. The 5E DMG is the first DMG ever published which I have not purchased, simply because I can't watch WotC torpedo D&D again. 4E was painful enough, thanks. On the other hand, I was here first. I've been playing D&D since the eighties. So watching WotC stumble around...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

I also want to see D&D endure, which is why I find their enduring ineptitude in the digital space so maddening.

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

As someone with 20 years in Corporate America: Agree to disagree. As far as I can tell, most big companies survive on economies of scale, vendor lock-in, litigation, and grossly unfair competitive practices. Flipping a coin would be just effective as your typical middle manager's decision...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

They had the data on 3E, what worked in terms of making money, what didn't, and lots of hard data on fan feedback. With their superior information, they were better positioned as rational actors than any of us forum commentators..and then they released 4E. We all know how that turned out. And...

D&D 5E (2014) Light release schedule: More harm than good?

Without offering any opinion of the merits (or lack thereof) of the slower release schedule, I'll note that there is no shortage of "WotC is a big company, therefore they must know best" in this thread. Big companies react slowly, have trouble changing direction, and typically suffer from...

How's D&D Working Out For You? First official feedback survey looks at CLASSES and FEATS!

Glad they're asking for feedback. Not sure they'll appreciate my feedback of "Hi, I'm a 30 year D&D player who loves 5E, but won't play it ever again unless/until you release it in PDF." At least they asked.
