I always like realism and dynamism in combat systems and so this has an appeal although I'm sure my players would hate it. But I don't think ti would speed things up - in fact I think it would make it worse. My players are old hands and they know from round to round what they want to do (more or...
I know this wasn't a mainstream play style but in our 2e group Druids were the Priests and Rangers the Paladins (effectively) of the nature god who was probably the 2nd most important god in the campaign. That's always influenced how we've played them over 20 years now.

Summoning a CR 6 monster isn't the same as fighting a straight up CR 6 monster - you kill the caster, disrupt the concentration spell or dispel the creature and it's gone.
Usually a publisher buys a group of ISBNs and then registers them once the book i confirmed/more or less ready. I guess you could de-register an ISBN but it would seem wasteful...
We used some of these in play last night. They worked fine and gave a framework to some activities that the PCs had wanted anyway. I'm not sure about the religious service idea but then again, I can sue that as a spur to do some work of my own.
The other thing I'm not sure about it the magic...
Yeah, it was probably like that but with a little more nuance like
GG: Do you have any plans around B1 and B2?
WotC: Well, maybe. Why do you ask?
GG: I was wondering if we could pay you a license fee and we'd make them into a reprint with original stats and 5e stats and some historical info...
This is slightly OT but I am a commissioning editor with a large international academic publisher in my day job. We regularly get requests from academics to publish translations into their own language and they usually get a fob off form response. The reason is that it's not just about being...
What I'd like to see are not necessarily new classes (although they certainly could be which is why I'm posting here) but cultural variant arcane casters - wu jen, sha'ir and that sort of thing. Shamen for divine?
Lackhand makes good points. Also remember that because of political considerations or incompetence/emotions on the part of the king, some of the people on the council might be rubbish at their jobs.
I don't think it's necessarily that clearly defined - a king who fancies himself a great military leader might not have a military adviser for example, but I think that you've got it more or less right. The Chancellor/financial role is crucial.
I leave D&D and always come back. I left D&D after a long running 3/3.5 campaign petered out for WFRP and came back (to PF) because we had a new player who was keen. Then I left it for CoC and Savage Worlds and a brief dip into Runequest and now back to 5e for the last few months. For my group...
A bunch of dudes in their late 30s and early 40s with varying degrees of weight gain and facial hair (and hair loss)... I don't think anyone needs a photo! My groups used to be much more diverse...
