    Improving your Rhino Hide

If you add charging as a +1 modifier to a +1 chain shirt you get a superior product for a lower price. Just FYI

    Bracers of Striking

Spells required to create an item a just an approximation of a related effect. Many times it does relate to items that have abilities that cannot be duplicated by any specific spell. You can't read enhancement bonus into the item based on the creation requirements.

    3.5e Suggestion Addition

I think quirks should be added for every level you don't get a feat ie 2,4,5,7,8 etc. If you looked at Dragon 305 in the Faith and Honor article they present new "feats" that really should use the quirk mechanic. Would this be too much of a change from 3rd Ed? This would help solve the ongoing...

    Class and Prestige Class Abreviations

They've started using 4-6 letter abbreviations but I can almost never tell what they are unless specifically mention in the character description. If the prestige class have 3 words in the name, the abbreviation is all caps for the 3 letters (except for of) and if there are 2 words it the first...

    Improving your Rhino Hide

To add +2 strength to a weapon would cost 8,000, double the normal cost for +2 strength because it is slotless. This is totally different than the above method because the non-weapon power is already in the weapon/armor. Ki straps are bracers and not even a weapon. I wouldn't treat a non-weapon...

    Improving your Rhino Hide

Hide is such a horrendous armor that they take that into account. Its studded leather with 2 less max dex, 3 higher check penalty and reduces your movement speed. A chain shirt +1 is clearly superior to hide +2 so I think the double damage on a charge is the entire value of the item, because it...

    Please rate the Loremaster

I think trading 3 feats for 3 feats is a wash. There are better prestige classes one could pick. There is very little difference between a wizard and a loremaster. If you happen to qualify for the Loremaster then there is no harm in taking the class but its not worth going out of your way for. I...

    Quick question: Double weapons cost

Second heads of double weapons don't cost double because they are treated as separate weapons and enchanted separately. The bracers have to have the same enchantment on each head so simply pay double the cost on any enhancement ie 4000 + bracers for a +1 enhancement.

    Please Rate Improved Shield Bash

The ability to trigger a bunch of AoO's on a target your party has mostly surrounded or the ability to do a full attack, knockback your opponent and step away 10' so your opponent can only get 1 attack. If you have feat synergy and knock your opponent prone then they don't get any attack at all...

Boots of Striding and Springing on a Monk

Tops out at 100, double the non-magical speed since all spell-like and supernatural speed increases don't stack. The same is almost always true for skill modifiers as well.

    Please rate Heighten Turning

Its hard for any feat to get an extreme rating because it only take 2-3 non-serious votes to throw off the whole curve. Most of the feats rated 4 are pretty bad, definitely worse than the original core feats. Someone posted an item that gave +4 effective turning levels for 11k, if a feat can be...

Whats your opinion on the Point Buy System

Re: Re 68 pt buy is far beyond heroic, its 18,18,16,16,16,14. Stats are universally so high there is little difference between characters. Realistically you'd have to extend the pt buy chart to 20 or 22 following the point cost progression +4,+4,+5,+5 The only problem with pt buy is as...

    [OA] Feat: Roundabout Kick

I don't see a limit to how many times you can use this feat in a round. If you rolled nothing but natural 20's you would kill anything within your reach.

    Double Weapon Fighter PrCs

Someone prints homebrew feats on paper and then they aren't homebrew feats then huh? You already get to essentially double your attacks per round without penalty which it normally takes 10 levels of tempest to do at level 6. Why not take perfect double weapon fighting next and really double your...

    Elven Thinblade?

I don't think any race is getting the stepped up damage or critical weapons as a racial weapon proficiency, only double weapons.

    Please rate the Blackguard

If you were 21st level and became fallen then you could have 21 blackguard levels instead of 21 paladin levels and rack up the epic feats, sneak attack damage and caster level.

    Please rate Heighten Turning

Evil clerics only command undead up the turning damage that they rolled so how is the damage not relevant? They also only bolster undead equal to the damage they rolled so fewer undead are bolstered to a higher amount. This could result in unturnable skeletons but the zombies melt away like...

    Please rate Heighten Turning

You could wrap extra turning, heighten turning and empower turning all into a single magic item and price it at about 6k and not be giving anything away. Heighten turning ought to add 2 levels to your effective turning level and empower turning should just add 3d6 turning damage.

    Prestige Races....

I always thought 1 xp = 5 gold was a bad deal. Creating a magic item with a feat makes 1 xp = 12.5 gold and with artisan its 1 xp = 20.8 gc I don't particularly like the idea of looking like a freak and paying 1 xp for 5 gold for anything except the exact benefits I'd like is out of the...

D&D 3.x Playing in a DND3E game with no magic items

CR 1 and 2 creatures will continue to be challeging through character levels 6-12 with no arcane caster and no magic items. Feats like great cleave will be important to have since you will fight low level creatures for almost all of your adventuring career. The way to balance xp is always use...
