D&D 5E (2014) Curse of Strahd - Vallaki (spoilers possible)

But... the sampler platter is as tasty as it is appalling! As to the OP, just fiddle with the plot enough to require at least one trip to the town.

D&D 5E (2014) Curse of Strahd - Vallaki (spoilers possible)

Each PC gets a $25 coupon for the Applebee's in Vallaki? Or they have to deliver a package to someone in that town.

    D&D 5E (2014) "The" Lich?

Your link doesn't work. In anycase, the fake Acer is just fine, helps the other all adventure work and thematically does not actually negate the real Acer elsewhere.

    D&D 5E (2014) "The" Lich?

This is the way I am leaning as well, that Acer is the "definitive" lich.

D&D 5E (2014) Some ideas on Azalin and Darkon

Ari Marmell, for one, has remarked that Azalan is dull, or at least not as compelling as Strahd. I agree.

D&D 5E (2014) Some ideas on Azalin and Darkon

It has been pointed out that Azalin, of Ravenloft, is a boring character. While Strahd is an interesting character, a fully Gothic style beast yet a D&D character at the same time, Azalin the lich is not… Azalin is just a store-bought lich, more or less. Here are some thoughts on making him more...

    D&D 5E (2014) "The" Lich?

Even so, what lich are still lich (and not gods, or anything else well outside of PC ability to deal with) but very memorable and compelling?

    D&D 5E (2014) Barovia's world

I think more sources of the beasts, people and places are unknown than known. So the and Azalan are some of the few definitely known, from Dragon Lance and Greyhawk. Most of the others are vague.

I think Barovia is from the mountainous park of Nebraska.

    D&D 5E (2014) Barovia's world

Not that I am aware of, it was always been vague. It can be from anywhere from an official setting to a home brew operation. I always fiddle with it and make it from Earth.

    D&D 5E (2014) "The" Lich?

If Strahd is “the” D&D D&D vampire, then who is “the” D&D lich? Namely, a character with similar levels of name recognition and clout as Strahd. Possibilities include Acererak, Azalin, Szass Tam and Vlaakith. Of them, which for you really sells the concept and possibilities of lich they way...

The Kickstarter for "JourneyQuest", Season 3 has just dropped

I liked the series, and I liked Standard Action. The final seasons of SA was pretty mediocre. I hope SA does better, but SA have accumulated a lot of plot threads which need to be resolved.

    Star Wars Spoilers Thread [Spoilers]

Fairy tales and fairy tale movies are always going to be wildly inconsistent is terms of morals, backgrounds, incest and the like because they are about the razzle-ma-tazzle, not about consistent nuance.

    Star Wars Spoilers Thread [Spoilers]

This movie doesn't work like that. It is more like a fairytale. You can give it that kind of in-depth analysis, demanding answers to why no one showed grief or moral outrage. But it is like dissecting a soap bubble.
