D&D 5E (2024) Which Weapon Mastery is Your Favorite?

I can't answer for @Vaalingrade , but whenever I've been undertaking serious weapon training, the sort with decent sparring, you find that a lot of the time you're not scoring "hits" against opponents of equal ability, but you do get a lot of "little hits" you weren't necessarily expecting, as...

Star Trek: Section 31 ... THE MOVIE

Actually, as I watch this documentary about Hunter S Thompson and think about the A-Team, I'd like a drama about the early days of Section-31, when it was necessary and proportionate to leverage Earth's relative weakness vis a vis the space aliens, and then everything went south, and the best...

Star Trek: Section 31 ... THE MOVIE

Now you're talking! And Gary Oldman's still around! I'm not too hot on early Fed lore, but if we get Oldman attached I'm sure we could pull a cool 6 figures each just for suggesting it to Paramount+

Star Trek: Section 31 ... THE MOVIE

In my perfect world any Section 31-specific media would take Syriana (2005) as a working template.

D&D General What is two weapon fighting good for?

I think context is important here, especially when we're dealing with the hyper-realism of D&D. AS others have said, there were definitely historical styles that used a short and long weapon, though they weren't as popular as long weapon+shield. Scottish Highlanders fought with backsword and...

D&D 3.x Are there any role-play differences between Paladin and Cleric?

The Paladin is chosen to ride out and do stuff in the name of their god/religion. Protecting the faithful, solving 'big picture' problems, vanquishing evil/good, genociding enemies and so on and so forth. Adventuring and questing is their schtick. The Cleric is a working religious figure of...

D&D General Was the future king that was disguised as a commoner right to get 7 orphans that he felt sorry for adopted by wealthy merchants?

Hard no. Now those orphans are members of the mercantile classes, and we do not need more bourgeoisie being created at this time in the kingdom's history, comrade JMISBEST.

D&D General How much control do DMs need?

I came up in the 80s and 90s with the sort of control-freak GMs and DMs you write horror stories about, and as part of a cohort of players who had learned psychological warfare to play these guys games and have fun. So my personal DMing style was a reaction against that and always leaned away...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

The revolution's already happened? And I managed to miss it?! How can it be?! I've been glued to my television this whole time! Ooooh they're not calling it the revolution, just editing reality going forward so no one notices, and the people who do notice get sent to Pathfinder 101. Okay, gotcha.

The old Cavalier was a beautiful thing, a real design classic. Of course, as things of their time they've all rusted away by now, and so that's what happened to the Cavalier.

Oceania 2084 draft- Orwellian dystopia - Looking for feedback

Honestly, for me the lifts straight from Orwell are the most jarring thing about your mock-ups. I like everything else about the project, but playing in the actual world of 1984 seems to be a somewhat ridiculous and pointless notion given the last page of the novel itself.

It's time to make fetch happen: Barbie Teaser 2, Now With More Gosling

I heard he got literally $3.50 for Bladerunner 2099. It rises to $7 if they let him play Spider-Man.

It's time to make fetch happen: Barbie Teaser 2, Now With More Gosling

There's a 7pm programme on BBC One in the UK called The One Show. You get all sorts of famous Hollywood people on it. Dustin Hoffman said it was one of the most challenging experiences of his professional career. They once asked Matt Damon what he thought of badger boxes being placed on traffic...

D&D 5E (2024) Firearms to be made a fixed part of the game, new Weapons Rules

Or maybe don't judge guys that've been playing together for nearly 40 years? We just transitioned into something else. If one person ain't happy, nobody's happy, and if the GM ain't happy, game ain't runnin. And punching out DMs is so 1990s man, I'm a changed guy these days.

After much deliberation, I think the thing that I'd like to see most in the new Planescape slipcase is slavery. Loads of slavery. Like, all the slavery.

D&D 5E (2024) Firearms to be made a fixed part of the game, new Weapons Rules

Exactomundo my dude. But then one of your besties from back in the day rocks up with a "build" that requires them, so you relent, then after a few sessions you just can't take it anymore and destroy his h*ndb*ws and won't let him buy new ones and the game crashes.
