You can't. You need to fill a role. Half one role and half another is broken and will inevitably make you too strong or too weak.

How else would you define gish? Having been a big gish fan in 3.5, I think it's simply irrelevant in this edition. You don't need to multiclass to gish. Take the feats to give you the abilities you want and use a sword and armor. Take Toughness to get extra hitpoints. What else involved being...

Sounds cool. Might be broken: Implements give wizards a reason to put something away and have to take out another item in combat.

Also, some Magic Item Daily Powers use healing surges as a source of use.
