Well in my opinion, when in doubt, follow the mythology. Divine Children are immortal if both parents are immortal. Those with one mortal parent begin mortal, but will have higher stats representing their partial divinity.

Immortals can have children. So Immortals can be born Immortal. They do not need to be mortals who then gain immortality. It makes sense that some immortals might seek out worship and become "gods", while others do not and are seen as "anti-gods".
