    Taking Requests

I'm working on that. Basically, I wanted a cool location and I'm figuring out the details later. I'm currently thinking that the tower was built on a hillock, and the wizard guy at the top did some big magic thing. I figure that part of the tower was built with magical assistance so it held...

    Taking Requests

This may not fit into Urbis, but you can tone down the wilderness nature of the locale. I want a fallen tower. The top part of the tower should have slid down a hillside I've attached a great picture of what I want. Really, I think all you need to do with it is fill in a couple of details...

    What books should I buy?

Hmmm. OK, the key thing is to make that $75 work for you. I would strongly suggest a subscription to Dungeon or Dragon. Failing that I would just read the reviews for the products you mention. It isn't like you can combine a Forgotten Realms game with an Eberron game without invoking a planar...

Do You Have Too Many Books?

Well, in my case, what I do is set a hard limit. US$40/month. Period. And then I don't worry about it. I tend to get PDFs so I can buy more books, but ultimatley, I have a hard limit. It really sucks come time to subscribe to Dungeon or Dragon because I don't get that "instant...

Do You Have Too Many Books?

In response to Olaf the Stout ... these are very good books that could launch a campaign or two. Take Psion up on his offer! That said, if more books were sold as PDF I'd buy more books. This includes comics. I like the idea of comics I just don't want a closet full of magazines. And by...

What if your players had an innate knowledge of your setting?

I did this and there was no issue. As long as the "orcs" are portrayed with the honesty and nobility that every individual should have anyway, why would htere be a problem? If you still have qualms, why not make the non-Earth species to be some kind of magical invaders? Like a kind of...

Do You Have Too Many Books?

There is no such thing as "too many books" !!!!!!

    Gulch or fallen tower?

I might end up doing this. Like something in the tower gives a clue to the other side of the gulch. But I generally don't plan that far out ahead. I mean, for all I know my players might decide to take tap lessons and fight evil with the power of dance!

    Gulch or fallen tower?

Oh, that's good! I can have it so that it may slide down further and off of a cliff. That might work fine. Thanks guys. Falling tower first, dry gulch second.

    Gulch or fallen tower?

Hmmm. I'm considering making the tower built out of ReallyStrongiumtm, but that would be a little cheesy. I figure I can color code the squares and impose a standing balance check to keep from falling. It's an Iron Heroes game, so that'd fit in fine with the rules. But still mapping this out...

    Gulch or fallen tower?

I can't decide between two settings for the next adventure. A) A gulch. A ruined base camp on one side, with the Temple-o-Evil on the other. The bridge is down, swinging and heroics are the order of the day. B) A wizard's tower, but it's fallen. The adventure would be going through and...

Liked the movie-- hated going to see it...

My wife and I have pretty much stopped going to the movies. When we go out we'll just have a nice dinner and some drinks and talk. The last movie I saw in the theater was Serenity. No problems there. Before that it was Revenge of the Sith and I took great care in selecting a seat that was...

    Ranger - likes and dislikes?

I'll defend the 3.5 ranger. Heck, I used to defend the 3.0 ranger. If you want a fighter/rogue you should play a fighter/rogue. The problems I percieve people having with the ranger class are problem I think really exist with the fighter class. Why not have a "feat" that allows you to...

    B5 & Mongoose - Straczynski not pleased

Let's just say I'd be more impressed if he had made as much a fuss about the wargame. Plus, as I said before, he could have bought back the rights himself. It isn't like Mongoose is General Electric or anything. Cripes, the fans probably would have chipped in and helped JMS get the book...
