New D&D Monthly Survey: Mystics & Psionics

The reason Greyhawk has a gritty, old school feel is because it's representative of its time. The late 2e relaunch and 3e LG were weaksauce, and I'd expect little more from anything else WotC would add to the setting now. Ya want some Greyhawk, I got yer Greyhawk right here. :)

New D&D Monthly Survey: Mystics & Psionics

They are different, no doubt. But Mike raises a good point. What would be needed for a GH setting that hasn't already been published? No new crunch is required outside the core rules. I think there'd be more blowback from grumpy grognards "ruining" GH by printing something shiny and new...

Unearthed Arcana Psionics Hits Unearthed Arcana

Sorry, I could have wrote that better, perhaps. I'm saying that I hope it's not the same thing over and over every month. It would be better if new content gets added to older releases. In other words, any new psionics rules just gets added to the July UA article.

Unearthed Arcana Psionics Hits Unearthed Arcana

Hopefully those like me that don't like psionics in their D&D don't go and vote "Very dissatisfied" on everything in the poll. That helps no one. I did participate, however, by skipping the article voting and submitting a comment along the lines of not devoting a bunch of UA articles to a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Artefacts

If this were the case, not only would my players never see a legendary item or artifact, very rare items would be very rare indeed. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) can you do a mega-dungeon in 5th Edition?

Ah, in my original post, I only had time to answer the question asked by the thread header. Now that I see you're trying to go for an old school feel, maybe I can help out. Honestly? If it's old school feel you're going for, I wouldn't worry about such minutia. If dungeon level balance is...

    D&D 5E (2014) can you do a mega-dungeon in 5th Edition?

I agree, megadungeons aren't just an old school adventure type. In fact, a lot of the largest ones come from the 3.x era (Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, Rappan Athuk, The World's Largest Dungeon, Castle Whiterock). I'd just run it how I normally run 5e. It should work fine.

Two PRIMEVAL THULE Previews In One Day? Check Out The Beastman!

On the other hand, as a previous backer, I'd rather the fluff stay exactly the same in all versions. If you start renaming things, it can get confusing.

Two PRIMEVAL THULE Previews In One Day? Check Out The Beastman!

It's a Hunter, not a hunter. Though everyone can hunt, they're the superior hunters. Sort of like how anyone can potentially walk up behind someone and kill them, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're Assassins.

Check out the 5E PRIMEVAL THULE Table of Contents!

Narratives are in the other versions of the setting, too. And yes, they are very much like 5e Backgrounds.

Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide: The First Official D&D 5E Setting

What's the problem? GR is a fine RPG company. Not personally a fan of the AGE system, but that's not an issue here.

Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide: The First Official D&D 5E Setting

I'm happy using the 3e FR setting material I already own, so I don't really need this. Plus, I was planning on going from FR, which our current game is set in, to Primeval Thule for the next campaign, and that was before they announced the 5e version of the setting. That sealed the deal.

D&D 5E (2014) What old books work best with 5e?

Setting books and adventures are the best value. There isn't usually much crunch in setting books (although 3.x did it's best to change that) and adventures are pretty easy to convert, no just from other D&D editions, but other games, too. Books full of monsters, spells, magic items, etc, have...

    D&D 5E (2014) Reclaiming Blingdenstone

Our sessions weren't that long back then, 2.5 to 3.5 hours each, but we didn't get though more than one per session.

    D&D 5E (2014) Reclaiming Blingdenstone

Reclaiming Blingdenstone is definitely not a one-shot adventure. The party could spend half of one session exploring the part of the city the gnomes have taken back so far, interacting with NPCs. That said, you could turn it into a one-shot by bypassing that and just assuming the party has...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you roleplay your PC actions in combat?

I usually DM. The player narrates the attempt if they want, and then I narrate the result, putting forth more effort the more dramatic the result is.

[UPDATED] A Savage D&D 5E Campaign Setting From the Makers of PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE

I'm just getting the pdf, but that's because I already have a premium leatherbound 13th Age version, purchased before our dollar went in the tank. I probably don't really need it; conversion wouldn't be too tough, but I don't mind supporting this.

    D&D 5E (2014) The DM's Helper...all the twists and cul-de-sacs of a DM's mind.

No need to apologise. Not taking you to task, just trying to help you out. There isn't any single one place here for all GMing knowledge, but that's only because it's such a broad topic.
