    Please identify my wizard's armour!

I think the elf is wearing that bark or thorn armor from Dragon with the reduced penalties. Its falls midway between regular and mithril. The non-metal armors are replaced by leaf armor with the same game mechanic.

    Exposure to elements

Hmm, King Arthur collapsing in the snow after a short time? Nope, don't see it. The polar bear society swims in freezing water but yet other people die from the same thing. Fact or fiction? A high level character has the force of will to ignore petty things like cold and severed limbs. Its...

    Poison evil?

Spiders tend to have paralytic poison (str) while insects tend to have lethal poison (con) Nothing in nature (or fantasy) is an always/never situation. You can make spiders with con poison and insects with str poison. Don't complain about the standard way because it doesn't mesh with your...

    Different or Very Different Mount?

You (the player) declares what the base ride skill is keyed to and from that point on that is the basis of determination of different and very different. If the paladin says flying then if he later tried to ride a horse, treat the horse as very different.

    Riding piggyback in combat???

You are thinking of the gnome battlepack in the April Issue in the Rumage Sale article. -4 tumble & balance while wearing it (when full) rider can face any direction but can't move (duh) rider is -2 to hit with melee, halved dex bonus to ac/saves (reasonable) rip cord for quick release (handy)...

skill points and cross class skills(kinda long)

Your ranks in a skill are something for presitige classes. Now that you can have a +200 epic skill item for 400k or a +20 ordinary skill item for 8k, the base ranks only matter for things that only count base ranks or if you are under level 5. There is no munchkin value in taking a class just so...

    Dragon Lords of Melnibone

The spell might as well be called Mage Shield. There is already a spell called Shield that is better but "Mage Shield" stacks with them all. If you have no shield you get +4 AC Armor (shield) bonus, if you have a shield you add the base +1 or +2 to that 4.

    Grapple (Multiple Grapplers)

In the case of 300 bow wielding goblins, I would surely apply the rule that a natural 20 is an extra +10 to hit. This would mean the fighter is invulnerable to normal missile weapons. The rule of 20 is not meant to apply to mass combat. Firing through each other would give the fighter 9/10ths...

    Level up help appreciated

Keeping your dex bonus is the same thing as not being flat footed except that you don't get AoO's unless you have combat reflexes.

    Level up help appreciated

You want to be a cleric of time and fate, you get true strike, never flat footed and improved initiative. You get +2 fort and +2 will, neat huh?

How much reality do you use?

I suggest just crouching at the crotch between the wall and the ceiling and brace against that. You don't actually have to be on the ceiling. I doubt there would be any game difference but it might help your reality.

    Permanent Righteous Might

There is a rule (proposed by Monte Cook I believe) that permanent spells are supressed for 1d4 rounds by a dispel magic like magic items. If you paid experience for something, it should not be able to be undone without a similar expenditure. I personally would not let spells above 3rd level be...

    Raising Vorpal Weapon's Threat Range

You can increase the threat range but the vorpal power only works on the original threat range of the weapon.

    Stronghold Builders Guidebook

If you already have older stronghold guidebooks, S&F or QSF is this product worth getting? What is the ratio of new to recycled material?

    Help with a Lawyer Class

Being an indian giver is a bad way to start a campaign. If I was the party we would attack the lawyer and kill him. Lawyers are meant to be killed at every opportunity. A 2nd level party should be able to kill a lawyer, 6 warriors and a 3rd level diviner.

    Evasion for Fortitude Saves?

Geez, people. Mettle changes all instances of half or partial to negates for all Fort and/or Will saves. Don't encourage authors and editors to waste space repeating the same thing 3 different ways just so its clear to the last 0.1% of readers. That sort of thing in Mystic Warriors drove me...

Mini Encounter Competition - Voting Over - We have a winner!

You could have a run off between the top 3 and see if that helps. Its probably wouldn't stay a 3-way tie then.

    Rings of Power

This is the sort of book that would be a very nice $5 pdf download from Rpgnow. It is however, a poor choice for a $27 book. If you have a chance to pick this up for $5-$8 I would encourage you to do so. Petition FFG to release this book as a pdf so you can get your hands on a copy. Very few...

"OK. Make a Will Save." POOF! Go the Fighter and Rogue

Get freedom of movement, that's the best power ever. A variant periapt of proof against poison changed from poison to compulsion is a cheap and effective solution. A wizard only has a slight bonus to will save over the fighter at 6th level. (+3) Use dispel magic. (Protection from spells is...

Potential Player to DM: "What Is Your Mortality Rate?"

There are 5 spells that bring characters back to life for a reason. Death is but a small penalty, probably smaller than losing all your equipment. You missed a roll, made a mistake, its not the end of the world, its part of being an adventurer.
