Stupid Plant Tricks (Plant Growth meets Woodland Stride)

I thought Druids got this as an constant ability, not a spell? Or am I thinking of Pass Without Trace?

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

Your other senses do count for something. When it is your turn, you're allowed a listen/spot check to find the square the invisible opponent is in. They just don't go so far as to allow you to see through gaps in an opponent's defenses... because you can't SEE the opponent's defenses in the...

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

I dunno. I think that mostly my conflict here stems from my interpretation of what an actual AoO IS. It's an intentional strike or series of strikes at an opponent when he lowers his defenses for a moment. You notice the wizard reaching for a potion from his belt. He is no longer paying...

Stupid Plant Tricks (Plant Growth meets Woodland Stride)

Woodland Stride is one of those "almost never used" Druid abilities, at least in our group. I say Kudos to a very useful but rarely applicable use of it, like walking through a Wall of Thorns.

D&D 3.x Waves of Fatigue and Exhaustion, new spells for 3.5E

I like them, especially because as a spell school, Necromancy needs more toys. I was thinking recently of creating a Necromancy spell that would amputate one of the target's limbs... an arm or a leg... no heads. I thought this would be a pretty nifty idea. It would do some minor damage on a...

Check out this thread just a bit down the page and on the same topic. ;)

    Geas/Quest questions

I was a rather annoyed player in a campaign awhile back where one of the characters was under a Geas. The character in question was under a Geas to retrieve an artifact. Our party happened upon the artifact in a temple where we were seeking healing from the Clerics. The DM and every other...

    Geas/Quest questions

There are ways for characters to bypass some Geas... it depends on how well-worded the Geas is to begin with. Some examples: I can just kill you. If you order me not to kill you, I can HIRE someone to kill you. This one could get icky depending on your personal view of Paladins... because...

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

Well, it also makes Darkvision, good lighting, Glitterdust, Invisibility Purge, and Blindsight more powerful and useful as well. Take the following scenaro. A group of fighters is walking down a dungeon corridor, where they're ambushed by several Orcs. An orc shaman casts Gust of Wind, and...

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

I didn't mean that Hyp subscribed to my interpretation... only that he had stated what the two sides on this were. I know he takes the other camp. ;) I acknowledge that an AoO can be multiple swings, but instead of one connecting just because defenses happened to drop, one connects because the...

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

I think this is one reason that I'm going to say that Invisible creatures don't provoke AoO... I would NOT want to deal with this as a game mechanic. A Fighter and his Wizard friend are fighting an enemy Wizard. Then EW turns invisible. The FW does likewise. The fighter then miserably...

    Stupid question... YOU CAN HELP

I would disagree, since Ghost Sound does not necessarily have to be speech... it could be a "thunk" down at the end of a corridor.

    horn of blasting

Stay FAR FAR away from the Horn of Blasting. As a DM, I have found it to be a horribly imbalancing item. Namely because it causes everyone in the area to be stunned for a round, with no save. Forget about the damage.

    Scroll Scribing time

Zhure, thanks for the page references! I love how they split up useful information like that! *sigh* Anyways... I am at a loss at to whether or not I'd allow multiple spells per scroll to be scribed in one day. I remember a lot of people debating this... and the fact that there is...

    Scroll Scribing time

Greetings! I know this has been covered before, but I can't find the thread. I've checked the player's guide and the DM's guide, as well as the FAQ on this, and I can't find anything. Scribing a scroll takes 1 day for every 1000 GP in the cost. This, I understand. Somewhere, though I...

    Worst Swim check in history

Just because Hydra have 7 heads, does that allow them to make 7 attacks of opportunity? I don't think so. You should have only been attacked once - but then again there might be some Hydra rule that I'm forgetting about.

    A Wish

Allowing something like this is probably out of the scope of a Wish spell. You could use Shapechange to do this... but certainly not as a spell like ability once a day type of thing. A player who Wishes for this in my campaign would probably be transformed into a fire elemental immediately and...

reducing Book keeping for Wizards and Clerics

Check out these character sheets. There is one for D&D, and for Forgotten Realms. The spell lists included have a short description of the spell, range, spell school, saving throw, components, and the best of all... the PAGE NUMBER and book that the spell appears in. This is especially useful...

    Need Help with Invisibility Rulings

I really hate to disagree with the almighty Hypersmurf... because he rocks... but I just don't see how an invisible character can provoke an AoO by sheathing his weapon, for example. In too many AoO situations, there's no way for the character making the attack to KNOW that he is able to take...

D&D 3.x Does anyone know confirmed 3.5e Druid changes?

Ah! I knew someone would think of a Beast that I'd forgotten about! Good call. Druids turning into dinosaurs... that's a bit wrong. ;)
