Monster attacks - a little help?

Recently, with the help of this forum, it was brought to my attention that characters with more than one attack could attack different targets in the same round. We had always played in my group that a character with multiple attacks could still only attack one target. This resulted in unhappy...

    Disintegrate

Fireball specifies that it ignites "combustables" and I would rule that includes both attended and non-attended objects. Thus, if you're wearing a suit of flash paper, or you're drentched in oil, you're set on fire. Otherwise, Auraseer, I'm right with you on Disintigrate.

    Disintegrate

It CAN take out equipment... but the thing is that the spell only takes out what you TARGET. So Disintigrate just works oddly that way. Technically, it is bypassing the armor to hit the target, without affecting the armor itself - UNLESS you specifically target the armor - which you could. I...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] TWF + rogue = overpowered?

I don't see why anyone would have a particular problem with ROGUES and two weapon fighting... Certainly more Rogues will try it, since they don't get as many feats as a Fighter, and don't get it for free as a Ranger... a Rogue has a lot of other things in 3.0 that he can do with two feats...

    Disintegrate

Well, that's a GRAND idea... But the fact is that you only have to make a ranged touch attack to hit a creature with the spell. Armor doesn't modify your touch AC, no matter how much or how liitle you are wearing. Therefore armor does NOT protect you from Disintigrate. The idea that you'd...

    Disintegrate

The text of the spell specifies that equpment of a disintigrated creature is not disintigrated. Check the SRD.

    Polearm and Club

Well, it's a house rule, so feel free to do whatever you want. Personally, in my campaign, I hold to not being able to do that, simply because I think a 10' long weapon is difficult to turn around and simply use the end of it. Especially since such weapons have very heavy heads, and are not...

Is there a Magic Amulet that gives off light in the DMG?

Or, you could be like one of my players and get an Improved Familiar: Small Fire Elemental, and wear him on your head. Yes, I kid you not... he paid several hundred gold for a large porcelin-plate hat - think kindof like Guinan in Star Trek: Next Gen - only a bit larger, and curved upwards. He...

    Turning, fear, and running away.

Right. When you rebuke Undead, they can cower immediately, since it doesn't take any sort of an action to do so... but to flee, the Undead's initiative turn has to come up.

    Class skill/cross class skill

It works that way so that you can't do crap like take 1 level of Rogue to get Disable Device or something, and then abandon Rogue and go fighter while continuing to dump points in your Disable Device skill. YES, you can do it, but it's cross class so you can't borg out the skill as easilly.

Is a coup de grace a full round action....

Hey now, I had no idea the what the SRD was until a month or so ago, let alone that it was published online for easy access. Thus, when I had simple rule questions that are a bit TOO simple to be answered by the FAQ, and I didn't have my books handy, I would likewise post them to a forum or...

Help with a new campaign setup

I'd say Charm Monster is good. You could also use Dominate Monster. Even though it is a level 9 spell, he could be low level, and have had one of his powerful wizard allies scribe the scrolls for him. He has a chance at failing to cast them successfully, but they last for days at a time. You...

    Rethinking the 5' step rule

One of my players didn't like this rule either. HIS interpretation of it was even stupider, since he thought that whether or not you could take a 5' step back depended on what you were going to do AFTER you took the step. Blah blah blah blah and a lot of "it doesn't make sense!" lines later...

Fun ways to almost kill player characters

For someone who only played 2nd edition back when he was in Junior High.... would someone care to explain to me exactly what Green Slime is? I don't think I've heard any 3E references.

    Suggestions needed: Punishing Crime

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions! I very much liked the ideas of attoning for the crime by completing a dangerous mission. SO, this is what I think I'm going to do. Since the murder, the party has already done an extremely GOOD act. They freed a large number of slaves and broke up...

Shade Race from Dragon #307...ECL +2!?!

I agree with you on that kreynolds, which is one of the reasons Paladins annoy me a bit... or at least the Paladins that my players create. They borg out an undervalued stat - Charisma, to gain an ungodly benefit to all their saving throws. This is why Aasimar Paladins are unallowed in my...

Shade Race from Dragon #307...ECL +2!?!

As a non-dragon magazine subscriber, can someone explain to me what this thing is? You keep calling it a Shade, but it doesn't sound like the Shade from FR. Is this more like a Shadow creature or something?

    Suggestions needed: Punishing Crime

I'm in a situation in the campaign I'm running that has been encountered many times by everyone: having a chaotic evil character in the party. So awhile ago, the party saved a wealthy merchant and his family as they were moving to a new estate. Their caravan of belongings was attacked by a...
