D&D 3.x [3.5e] Movement, squares, facing, reach and squeezing

I found the irregular facing rules to be a pain in the butt and really dumb in 3.0. I had a Giant Centipede face my party... he's 15' x 60'. I had to figure out HOW he would actually take up that space... how he MOVES is complicated enough. How do I move a space like that around the board...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Feinting in Combat

A very GOOD thing, because a Rogue can out-bluff nearly everything there is. There's almost no chance of failure for a rogue with a maxed bluff skill to fail against the sense motive or spot checks of most other NPCs and monsters.

D&D 3.x [3.5e] Movement, squares, facing, reach and squeezing

You'll have to wait and read the book. Fighting on horseback won't change... except now you take up more space. Monsters can "squeeze" past each other, but I'm assuming won't be able to end their turn in a "squeezed" area where they can't take up their full facing. Bad news for 5' X 10'...

Surprise when the bad guys are faking it

I'd say the party all get to make spot checks upon seeing the skeletons, opposed by the bluff checks of all the skeletons. The skeletons should get at least a +10 on their bluff check for pretending to be what they already are... DEAD, and also because as undead, they are CAPABLE of lying...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Scribing Scrolls Clarification

A MOST welcome change... especially for DMs who run campaigns like I do... with not too much "downtime". I like to keep things active and exciting.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Scribing Scrolls Clarification

I don't think we'll see a change to scribing time/costs for scrolls. The rules work pretty well as it stands right now. However, I could use clarification for the time required to scribe scrolls less than 1000 GP in value, in addition to the multiple spells per scroll as you said. ;) That...

    Mass Heal vs Undead

There's NOTHING in there for a ranged touch attack. It's definitely not a ray. Only a Touch attack is mentioned. I see a few possibilities for this. 1) Typo. You don't have to touch the undead. It affects undead within the range just as it affects your allies. 2) It says a touch attack...

    [3.0] Wall of Iron stupidity

I think that the spell assumes that if the wall is ABLE to be knocked down, any STR against it are for THAT purpose and not to put a hole in it. If the wall is secured, I think the spell assumes any STR against it are to put holes in it. I acknowledge it's poorly phrased, and the DC for...

    [3.0] Wall of Iron stupidity

So, you give me a large wooden wall, at rest and not secured, and a baseball bat. I hit the wall. I'll put a dent in the wall, and the wall will "give" somewhat because I've smashed it, but it's not secured to anything. Thus, the wall will sway a tiny bit, absorbing part of the blow. If the...

    [3.0] Wall of Iron stupidity

Don't be so silly. Notice how the DC for breaking through the wall is listed BEFORE the spell description begins talking about the wall being created in an unsecured fashion? If the wall isn't attached to anything, your STR check against the wall will AUTOMATICALLY be a STR check to knock it...

    Do my homework for me

So thus Divine casters have a completely static spell list which can never be altered except by the Gods? I dunno if I really like THAT idea. So Bane comes up with a spell called Blade Barrier, and then his followers just somehow know to begin praying for it. The other Gods see Bane's...

Four adventurers walk into a forest...

I don't know if I'd require RFX saves or Balance checks to aviod falling while running through the woods. I'd probably just reduce the base movement speed of the characters. I suppose if they wanted to try to run at insane speeds ANYWAYS... I'd allow them to exceed the allowable movement, and...

    ETools Datasets downloads

I actually really LIKE Etools... mainly I think because I don't want a software program to track combat and do all the DM stuff FOR me... but I really like the Etools NPC and Monster generators. Thus, I don't think I'd mind paying for it when the data sets come out. I'm quite sad I can't use...

    ETools Datasets downloads

Greetings! Awhile back, I started using Etools. I loaded it up, and I found a TON of Forgotten Realms datasets to import to it, and suddenly I was a DM on a mission... drawing up NPCs with equipment and prestige classes in half the time it usually takes me. Unfortunately I was doing all this...

    D&D 3.x Aasimar 3.5

Okay, I looked through that whole huge thread and didn't see anything mentioned about Aasimars. Is there anything actually there, or are you just posting the thread Kreyolds?

    D&D 3.x [3.5] draw a weapon

Hmmm... I guess you're right on that one. I never noticed that little "regular move" detail. I'll have to let my players know about that one. ;)

D&D 3.x 3.5 Mounted Combat, Where is the Rider?

Yup. At the same time, he TAKES UP more space as well. So if things get crowded (unlikely since he's on a horse... you usually don't delve into dungeons mounted, but stay with me here) it will be much easier for his movement to provoke attacks of opportunity. He can also have many more...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] draw a weapon

You can move 5', draw the weapon, and still get your Full Attack without quickdraw. I concur though... there are lots and lots of uses for quickdraw.

DM Needs Help with Rules Lawyer

I believe the reasoning why Obscuring Mist will give a concealment bonus vs Blindsight is that your Blindsight ability allows you to see the mist just fine... so it still gets in the way of seeing your target.
