    D&D 3.x 3.5 Armor Changes.

Well... that's only a change in how weapon sizing works. A Bastard Sword is still going to do a d10 of damage. That's the sort of thing I meant. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the threat ranges and multipliers of certain weapons were adjusted. I doubt it though.

DM Needs Help with Rules Lawyer

Actually, ANY concealment bonus (a % miss chance) from Invisibility, Blink, to Displacement, to Obsuring Mist, to regular old poor lighting automatically make a target immune to sneak attacks. Of course, against a target with Blindsight, some concealment bonuses may not apply, such as...

DM Needs Help with Rules Lawyer

Monsters with reach and lots of attacks can make the best flanking rogue think twice about trying to flank. Presented with these situations, you'll encourage your rogue to come up with more creative ways to sneak attack. Take a monster like a Troll. He has a relatively low CR... but he has a...

DM Needs Help with Rules Lawyer

You seem mainly irked by the fact that the Blindsight ability and flanking allow the rogue in question to sneak attack more often. Yes? If this is the case, my reply would be forget about trying to nerf the rogue in your party. Rogues are all about cunning. There are a LOT of different ways...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Armor Changes.

It's still D20 anyway you slice it. They're not changing anything horribly fundamental, like what Attribute bonuses do, saving throws, hit points... skill checks still work the same, weapons and damage are remaining the same, most feats aren't changing... So a few spells work a little...

    Q: Arms & Equipment Guide

I like the A&EG for several reasons. The large list of specific magical weapons is very nice. It includes several good magical examples of every type of weapon in the PHB, even nets. The expanded mounts and animal training areas are nice. We've used those rules several times. It's nice...

Which of your 3.0 Core Rulebooks is Most Worn Out?

My Player's Handbook is PURPLE!!! That's right... purple!! How did it get that way you ask? Because I left it sitting out on the backseat of my car for over a week... and the sun bleached the cover. That, and the random tears and pages beginning to fall out mark my PHB for death. The MM is...

    Spellcasters and interrupted rest

That wasn't merely an interuption... they CEASED their rest period. Since they stopped resting, they need another full 8 hours. I'd allow other members of the party to get off a bit light in terms of sleep and their fatigue and such... but the wizard definitely needs to re-start his rest...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

Discuss the rule all you want. I think this is a good rule change, and I enjoy reading everyone's analysis of it. What I DON'T enjoy is seeing posts in the midst of the rule discussion that are solely devoted to bashing Andy Collins. But if you or anyone else want to keep blaming Andy Collins...

    Should multiclass spellcasters be fixed?

I know I know I know... Duel classing was odd and didn't make ANY sense how it was worked in 2nd edition, and I don't miss it at all. I just thought it might be interesting to take the BASIC idea behind Duel Classing, and come up with a different system. BTW... I think multi-class spellcasters...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

Geez, way to blame your problem with a rule on the guy who was just trying to give us a few little spoilers and such. For crying out loud, it's not like all the rule changes weren't thought through, play tested, and agreed upon by a whole group of writers. And for all you know, Andy may have...

    Should multiclass spellcasters be fixed?

Don't hurt me now... But I was thinking about this problem... and thinking why couldn't we bring back some type of duel-class system such as 2nd edition had? You could pick your class as Druid/Cleric. You'd level up in both, but you'd need more experience to level up. Thus you might have a...

    Weapon Enchantment Stacking

There is no such rule prohibiting having the Flaming, Shocking, Frost, or any combination thereof on a weapon that I am aware of. You can have Flaming and Frost on a weapon without any problems. They don't interfere with each other. It's magic. ;) Definitely not. You can't put Keen on a...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

It's been errated that "Keen" affects piercing and slashing weapons. In Magic of Faerun, "Impacting" was introduced, which is the same as "Keen", only for bludgeoning weapons.

    Cost of spell casting

Gah! You're probably right. With my luck, it WOULD be in the one book I didn't check. ;)

D&D 3.x [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

Yes? And? Since when do ALL weapons need to benefit equally from Improved Critical? When choosing your weapon, you have a choice. You can either take a 20/X4 weapon such as a scythe, and have a low potential to threaten a critical, or you can take a 19-20/X2 weapon like a longsword, which...

    D&D 3.x Forgotten Realms & Rules v3.5

I thought that they would simply release a web update for the FRCS and other FR books which convert any needed data to 3.5. If the books are already printed, I'm sure they've had the complete rules worked out for some time now, thus I'm sure they have plenty of time to convert some FR things...

    Cost of spell casting

Okay, I KNOW I have seen this before. But I can't find it ANYWHERE! Somewhere there is a chart in the DMG, Player's Guide, or something which lists common spells, and the cost to have them cast, examples such as how much a wizard charges to Identify an item, or how much a Temple will charge...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Threat ranges no longer stack!

Bah I say! A welcome change, if done correctly! I've always said that Keen is way too good, and it's an easy way to borg out fighters. I've seen fighters that duel-weild and threaten a critical with every attack. It's ridiculous. I've ALWAYS thought it was tremendously overpowered that Keen...
