    No Animate Dead?

I'm going to have to disagree (not only with this post but also others). Yes, I agree that raising undead skeletons is an Evil act in the DnD universe. However, this does not mean that Players should not have access to it. Sure, Good players should have to change their alignment to either...

    Tissue-Paper Dungeons?

The only poor thing of this strategy (besides if you have some other reason to keep it open including resale value and reoccupation efforts) is that you can't *close* the door behind you in case there was something there you want to keep locked up. But it is an annoyance. I wonder if Wizard...

D&D 4E An in depth rules discussion on the mechanical problems and breakthroughs of 4e

Really? I'm surprised, it doesn't seem that hard to play one. Maybe they should play one from level 1 once, that'll teach'em. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter if you play 4.0 This is one of my biggest worries with 4th edition. It's something I didn't accept in Oblivion (thanks to mods I...

Random Encounter Generator UPDATED June 12th

An "Easy" Level 6 encounter for 7 people. It's not a bad encounter at all really. The Green Dragon can freely use her breath behind the undead minions (since their immune to poison) while the spitting dragons pile on some unlucky person. The Dragons party stun ability might be a bit too scary...

    D&D game table ... Vista?

Vista came out after Windows. Doesn't mean it's better, maybe when it doesn't require a dimensional windmill worth of memory and they get all the bugs out of it...

[4e Setting] No Age for Heroes

Inspiring, if this was the premise of a book I'd think of buying it.

    Cleric With A Wisdom of 8 . . .

Ahh, I thought something was odd. You have have to change the + on "Wis 8 (+1)" to a - though.

    Action points accumulation use

I'd let my Players do it, if they had Narcolepsy. With all the benefits and of course disadvantages entailed of course.

    Cleric With A Wisdom of 8 . . .

Might want to recalculate some of those. For instance Wis 8 isn't +1. I'd look over the skills as well.

    Double training

Actually skill feats don't have to be class skills. I don't think that class skills mean anything after character creation with the current books. Maybe in later books we'll get a feat that adds +2 to class skills or something but currently we have none.

    Proof 4e is broken

    It's not broken, it's a feature.

So what happened to arcane and divine characters?

In my day we did it different, we didn't always cast spider climb. We actually climbed. And we thanked God if we could use our ropes to climb because otherwise we used our God given hand and feet to climb. Why have a Rogue find your traps for you? Because we wanted our Clerics to do other...

    Double training

Well, that part makes no sense for Wizards and Clerics since you get Arcane and Religion automatically if you multiclass in them. I think it's just a mistake in the book.

    Double training

Wizards and Clerics have (respectively) Arcane and Religion already trained. However, they also have the same skill in their class skill list. Does this mean a Wizard gets +5 skill bonus (because he's a wizard) and another 5 because he choose it at character creation from his class list? If so...

Imbalance is good and playing planet of the apes, all in one thread

I agree with parts about DnD, especially the part about class imbalance.

Magic Items and their resale value

4.0 is mathematics and balance foremost, and common sense/suspense of disbelief secondary at best. Why they took this approach is up for debate.

You don't like the new edition? Tell me about it!

Hey, #e had plenty of character! And it even had supplements for the spunk!

You don't like the new edition? Tell me about it!

4.0 is nice. But it's also somewhat sterile, lacking character and sheer "spunk"

    Rogueless thievery?

Fey Pacts are Charisma based. I think you mean Infernal pacts.

    Burn The Witch!

... I remember games where people who made deals with the devil ate babies and bargained until they made a mistake and devils dragged them to hell. I'm going to have to work on that infernal pact, develop different fluff for it. Christian themed monsters annoy me for some reason. Angels...
