    Good spells to persist

You can't persist touch spells :hmm: i think

Death & Dying - a better (and simple!) system.

I get why to bother, and its not a bad rule. But if the players feel safe having someone at -1 then its fair game for the DM to attack the bleeding character, isn't it? :p

Red Dragon, Virgins and a Doomed Halfling

So you die if the dragon fails, and he dies if you fail?

Shouldn't there also be a "No, I don't like it" as a voting option ?

    D&D 3.x [D&D 3.5] Winged creature taking off question

No, I meant what is right by RAW. Why so? I can't find this anywhere. I fly for 20 ft then walk for 10 ft then continue my flight...then end my move action, and attack.

    D&D 3.x [D&D 3.5] Winged creature taking off question

Here is my question: If I have a land speed of 40ft. and a fly speed of 100ft. with poor maneuverability, how I take off? With that in mind, my DM suggests that I need to move on a straight line for 50ft. on land using my fly speed (so it will be easier to calculate how much movement I have...

If you were the DM and...

Well, they get nice colored sands I guess. The fluff of the fireball would change to "a huge sun-like orb" or something like that. I like the half divine damage too. If it is something that could work, I would allow a lower success. The sands idea is too much trouble, so I would inform them...

    A little help, please

No, the druid player is less than 1 ECL - because she was allowed to choose only 8 spells. So now she isn't able to adapt her spell list to the environment. This means the DM has to adapt the environment to her. Nice house rule. :erm:

Could use some help with fiendish plans...

Devils would want the world order to happen, through blood and war. Because you know how many ppl would end up lawful evil just doing what they are ordered? If devils help the PCs...then they are probably manipulating them too? War brings chaos. Plus Demons would never plan so far ahead...

Could use some help with fiendish plans...

First of all: There are fiends involved I hope? I suggest a lichfiend succubus :) Why have some when you can have all? I think you should combine all the plots together. Even if it means that the PCs won't escort the supplies themselves, or something like that. The PCs learn that an army...

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

Wizard: So no one saw someone getting in or out, and there is no-one in the room. Only way this happened is that the guards are lying. Player 2: I want to track for footprints Player 3: I want to ask the victims some questions DM: Ok, so you (player2) want to search for tracks in case someone...

The importance of the Short Stuff

In my world gnomes fell from the sky, and the gods copied them to make almost all the other races :p so they are not small - everyone else is just too large.

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

Yes, my example was bad :P Nothing wrong with that. It just feels unnatural that for example a wizard could forget that "hey, there is magic too". (Ok some times the DM doesn't want all the encounters he has planned to go unused, but not me.) ____________________ Anyway, I don't mind for...

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

With the example I meant that I add the "in case someone left by foot" part to the "I want to search for tracks" of the player. Implying that someone could leave by other means. Except if I am missing the point, and you mean that I shouldn't confirm what the player just said with the "So you...

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

Ah no, my mistake. Usually everyone tells me what they want to do, then I repeat it back to make sure I got it right :p (and to get some time to decide who I should start with!)

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

No, not about the actions they take. That is very different, and kinda depends on the player. (For example a rogue that forgets to SA!) The reason I ask is because recently I found annoying as a player that the DM was telling us *very* obvious things, and I am kinda wondering if there is a way...

    I want to tell you something...but I won't.

Sometimes the players are missing something that the DM thinks its obvious. He asks them to roll a Wisdom/Intelligence check, and if they roll above lets say 5, or 10 he tells them the obvious thing. It gets weird for the DM if they all roll below 5. Then if it is something so obvious that...

    Your d20...an inny or outy?

DM, behind screen. If the players want me to roll behind the screen they can expect that I will fudge - for or against them. If not, they can expect a not so heroic death from a-lot-more-than-I-would-expect criticals.
