Books of Shadows – A Guide to Shadow Magic From the product page on RPGNow: “Book of Darkness: Guide to Shadow Magick is the first in a series of spell books intended for the Pathfinder and WOTC OGL. Magechantry is an official licensee. Have you ever wanted to control the very essence of...

Right, Spell Mastery will be going back to the drawing board which is conveniently located next to the trash can.

    Design Space

Improving Spell Mastery Spell Mastery is a rarely taken feat that only applies to wizards, few of which take it. By integrating the rest mechanic into the feat instead of the ready mechanic we make the feat more useful and appealing to all spellcasters. The current Spell Mastery feat is renamed...

    Design Space

Sneak-attacking rogues & centered monks come to mind. I agree that Expert Weapon Proficiency will greatly help fighters of all stripes. Who wouldn't like an 18-20 threat range, x4 crit multiplier, increased damage by 1-3 die sizes and Improved Critical? OK, I understand why Glassjaw said...

    Design Space

My biggest concern is that at high-level fighters won't keep up in damage. I'm not convinced that at higher levels fighters will be able to use Cleave or the Cleave-like exploit often enough due to the sheer number of hit points most high CR monsters have. Mind you I haven't had a chance to play...

    Design Space

Drat! I was afraid it might be too good for the given prerequisites, much less too good overall. So the next question is giving non-TWF combatants a third attack over-powered or is it who has access to the feat? I was originally thinking of adding weapon specialization part of the prerequisites...

    Design Space

I was looking through Trailblazer last night and thinking about the disparity of attacks/damage between the TWF fighter and other melee fighters. While I recognize that this partially a design decision and that TWF fighters pay for their increased attacks/damage with a reduction in versatility I...

    TRAILBLAZER - PDF Release - Discussion/Questions/Errata

Expert Weapons Proficiency? I was reviewing the Trailblazer fighter last night and the Expert Weapon Proficiency class feature caught my eye. Based on the name it looks like a feat but its listed as a class feature. I just want confirm that its a class feature and that a player cannot buy it as...

[Vigilance Press] Stranded on a Distant Star

Just to clarify, what system will Stranded on a Distant Star be using? D20 Modern, Modern20, True20 or something else?

"Fixing" d20 Modern - The Definitive Thread

As an author of one of those what to fix in d20 Modern threads, I thought I'd chime in with a couple of thoughts. Class system. While I like the six classes themed around the ability scores, they need some improvement. Which segues nicely into my next set of problems: Skills/Skill Points. 4...

[MONSTERS] Monster Advancement - Implied Simulationism

Have you compared 3e HD (not 3.5) to 2e HD? There may be a correlation between the two. I think the general implication was that creatures of the humanoid or monstrous humanoid type could have racial hit die to begin with, but could only advance as classed characters. I don't have all my books...

    Grim Tales PDF...

I'd pay for an art free version of the original rules and I'd pay for a revised edition as well. Oh and release Slavelords Of Cydonia while you're at it. :) Oh and another thing while I'm wishing: Trailblazer Lethids, 'nuff said.

    [Weekend Design] New Classes?

Its definitely: PSION PYSCHIC WARRIOR MONK There has never been a full BAB psionic base class. The psychic warrior uses psionic feats to get around any problems his lack of a full BAB might cause him combat. With the changes introduced in Trailblazer the monk best fits the basic combat role.

Combat Reactions v. Swift & Immediate Actions

Hrothgar, FYI, Star Wars Saga Edition does quite a bit with swift actions. In SWSE you get up to three swift actions per round. Your first swift action is "free" per 3.5, you second swift action uses your standard action and a third swift action uses your move action. Essentially SWSE values a...

    [3.x] 3rd Party Hidden gems?

Stone and Steel is the book you are thinking of and was mentioned earlier in the thread :). I recommend Hollowfaust from Sword and Sorcery, its an excellent treatment of necromancy; Secrets of Pact Magic was mentioned earlier in the thread, both it and its companion volume (Villains of Pact...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo sets price of Pathfinder RPG PDF at $9.99!!!!!

No desperation. Its a simple business decision as mentioned by previous posters. The PDF is priced to drive BOTH PDF and hard copy sales. Most releases of a hard copy product in PDF are discounted 30-50% (with 50% being the acceptable discount for most PDF pruchasers). By dropping the price down...

High level caster "fix:" Reasonable or Outrageous

I'm half tempted to say go with Player's Make all the Rolls option from UA and roll a caster check. If it beat's the targets SR, check to see if it beats his Fort, Ref or Will save next. If it does the spell effects the target.
