    Races and Classes

Hmmm? Races & Classes is already out in stores. It's a done deal. People are posting today like it's not out already? Though it's $20 for a preview, as a D&D nerd I am definitely getting enjoyment out of reading it. Core Races: human dragonborn dwarf eladrin (high elf) elf (wood elf)...

Dragonborn - will you ban them?

Dragonborn fit as a core race moreso than half-orcs or half-elves. If people actually read Races & Classes (yeah, I know... $20 for a preview), they would see how dragonborn both fit in with the mythology & history of the new Base D&D World, and are a cool character concept to play. Their...

[DragonWing Games] Lore of the Gods now available in pdf format

It's a fair price for 320 pages of material. It would probably cost $40 printed from a d20 publisher. For a game set in mythological Earth, this is a very good addition. Combined with GURPS Greece, Egypt, etc (for their excellent source material) and mixed with some imagination, you have a...

    Climb, Jump, Swim...

OK, I'm running a campaign where the PCs are bounty hunters, so you all have inspired me to combine some skills: Athletics: Climb & Jump Light Feet: Balance & Tumble Notice: Listen & Spot Stealth: Hide & Move Silently Combined skills will be class skills if your class(es) has both skills as...

Lacking a plan of attack (new game system)

Sounds like you are on the right track. Some good advice in this thread. I'd have two pieces of advice: (1) Stay confident. (2) Best way of not feeling overwhelmed is to take action.

Why you shouldn't use 5 ft corridors

OK, I got much respect for you Merric... but YOU'RE THE DM, it's your game, not the adventure writer's game, YOU DECIDE ON THE MAP AND THE ENCOUNTERS. You're experienced enough. Don't let WotC always tell you what to do! If things are getting too repetitive and there are too many combats...

What do you think D&D is missing?

The DMG says to use Dex for chases over uneven ground and Con for long chases. You can even use Gather Information and social skills for chases in a city. Do you need someone with a title to say that it is "OK to do so." ?

Is 3.5e beginning to suffer from rules bloat?

You can accomplish whatever feel you like with the core rules. There really is no true NEED for the optional rules, but they can be fun and add to the "feel" of a campaign on a selective basis. I began to explore this idea with a group of writers for a character collection called "Dragon Drop."

    The 32-page d20 Fantasy Spellbook

Here's what would be awesome (in my opinion)... Take the most popular d20 spells, create art for what they WOULD look like IN a spellbook, limit each to one page. Sell as a full color book.

    Encounter Design Help Wanted (brief)

(not sure if I'm posting to the right forum) Help needed by 10am eastern Saturday (June 16th) (1) I'm running a game where the PCs are going to face a ghoul cleric flanked by two ogre skeletons. They will square off on a platform that is no bigger than 30' square (30'x30') and will have an...

    New Saturday Game: Indianapolis, IN

We are getting close to full capacity. We are looking to add one more player. The initial group make-up so far is: druid monk ranger rogue A pure wizard would be most helpful, though any class would work (even one already "taken")

    New Saturday Game: Indianapolis, IN

For the Saturday game that currently runs from 10am to 2pm, there are three players who have committed to play. I am looking for at least two more to join us. We are getting together for a one-shot this Saturday (April 21st) and the campaign starts next Saturday (April 28th). If you're...

Indianapolis. Gamers wanted for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay!

By popular demand, our Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game is moving to Sunday. It will be held twice a month on the Northeast side. The time the game will be held will likely be something like 2pm to 6pm or something like that. We have a core of committed players that we are looking to build...

Civ 4 - Excited? [UPDATED pt.2 - Game is out & now PATCHED! Share your thoughts.]

I played it last night and found the game to be challenging even at the noble level (noble=normal). I found combat to be difficult against an entrenched foe and early on it is necessary to have catapults (to weaken stacks on city tiles) and spearmen (to counter chariots/mounted). I'm not a Civ...

    The PDF Review Project

Joe pretty much hit it on the head... I have a few takes as someone who has written over 50 reviews and I produced the defunct D20 Filtered review magazine (available at RPGNow.com)... REVIEWING OVER-RATED 1) Even if you get a hardcopy of the product, if you count all the time you spend...
