I read somewhere that Time Minear said that they are being shown in the order they are ment to and not the order they were filmed. I don't have a link to where I read it any longer, so I could have dreamed it. ;)

I agree. When I think of the Batmobile I think of sleak and aerodynamic, unless I'm thinking Dark Knight Returns. Then I want to see a freakin' tank. Only time will tell. :)
