My solution if you are away. Hire someone to manage the project while you are gone. There are rules for hirelings. Maybe they embezzle maybe they do you a good job. New roleplay hooks are formed.
Why is anyone bothering the designers with this? Let your GM make the decision and/or stop analyzing each word. This game is all about intention and we don't have to be Magic: The Gathering players like we did in 4e. Someone who specializes in ranged weapons will be better hitting the target...
Sorry, I really don't like it. It reminds me of WotC's new site and I can't find anything on that anymore. I much rather the new articles be on top and easy to see what's it about before deciding to read the rest or move on to the one below it.
2 out of 5 rating for Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Core Rulebook
Out of the three core books planned for Star Wars this one has been the biggest disappoint (even when the third is still in beta design). There was just too many repeats from EotE for me to feel that this was a good purchase...
4 out of 5 rating for The Shackled City Adventure Path
This AP was actually made for DnD 3.5 . It takes the PCs from 1st to 20th level. The interesting thing is pretty much keeps the PCs in one area until the start going into the Outer Planes. It always gave me a Sigil type vibe . Probably...
I REALLY hate the lack of spell power at higher levels. I would have been fine with it if they let Arcane Reserves work with any level of spell. I also think it's a fallacy that a level 2 spell will work great against high level foes. They get to make a save every round. Even average saving...
My problem is that just because GM wants to use modules for individual adventures doesn't mean he wants his entire campaign done for him. My last 4e game had Undermountain, the Isle of Dread, and Dragon Mountain all intertwined into my campaign.
Mearls did say all that stuff will be given to us for free. But that means we would have to wing it until they get around to giving us info on all those modules. For instance if you wanted to do a Magic Point system you might be waiting for weeks while they do articles on natural healing...
He mentioned on his AMA that L&L "could" go away and a new named article that has all the stuff pulled from the DMG like the Kender and Warforged would be given for free. Many of think this would be called Unearth Arcana. I'm just wondering if all the optional rules modules were pulled because...
Mearls implied that that the modules weren't in the book and would be put in Unearthed Arcana articles. Are there different rules modules like that one would see in UA that were said to be there?
I would like to point out that no DnD adventure path is more memorable than any of the classics. Mostly because they never had an adventure path that didn't consist of many modules strung together
It also points out that they were targeting the holidays for their software. Making it seem like they were on track and almost done and WotC pulled their license and permission to use their content. Why would WotC do that?
Mostly as an excuse that they can't fly all the time. I'd rather it be a permanent thing but I think for racial balance they shouldn't be able to. Plus they wouldn't have an excuse to have air ships =)
I gave my players the opportunity to do something else in Hoard of the Dairy Queen but they decided to keep on. As I said, we have been enjoying the adventure but I'd like something more like Gardmore Abbey or Ravenloft. Both are mega adventures but don't take 15 levels to tell.
