My issue with the pointed dice is that the corners will wear and break. My buddy has a bunch of old D&D dice that are basically unusable because they look like that ancient d20 someone dug up in the Middle East.

The Starter Kit is roughly a single adventure for 1-5 levels. I think it's set up as a Sandbox so it can be easily used for a single adventure. Other than that, the adventures they added in the beta might be something you are looking for although you will have to update the monsters.

I think anyone reading a spell description will notice that this game is just as much RAW as 4e if not more so. When every "At Higher Levels." portion of a spell is so RAW that they are redundant. It really throws me. Just like when every spell says "every creature you can see within range"...

I think anything that WotC thinks doesn't belong in the game (Magic Item Creation, World Building, Strongholds) will not be well made.

That's another way of saying having an Errata pdf though. A lot of people think having Errata makes the game subpar. I'm cool with putting it in the Basic rules as long as they don't keep reprinting the errors in the Core book.

Think of the American Wild West. When it was common for a gunfighter to come into town people avoided them, the sheriff asked for their weapons, barber's hands shook when they tried to give them shaves. When it was rare, people might give them the benefit of the doubt.

Reading these threads, I am just reminded that most of the problems are coming from the classes or paths that were not playtested.

I don't see a need to have much more than the PHB. I don't see there to be much need to have say an Eberron Player's book despite not having warforged. A psionics book would be good but to me that's should be a bit more than just player material. What I really want to see are GM aids like...
