Incorrect. They cleared that up last month, they have the right to use any TSR 1st or 2nd Edition AD&D setting within the confines of the standalone Hackmaster game. That includes Greyhawk, Mystara, Ravenloft, Dark Sun, etc. Their license dosn't extend to the D20 System.

There's no reason that they couldn't use the standard magic system up through the end of the fourth age, and then use a variation of the Sovereign Stone system for magic of the fifth age/war of souls period (where magic is somewhat more freeform).

I'd at least expect Sean Waltman to join them soon. The nWo merchandise is still selling huge, so I don't think they'll eliminate the faction just yet. Waltman's still defending the Light Heavy belt at house shows, so I'd also expect him to unify Tajiri's WCW Cruiserweight title upon his return...

That would be a ridiculous trademark claim on their part. The term 'd20' has been used commonly for over twenty years now by virtually every RPG company that used a twenty sided die. TSR didn't challenge that use, nor did WotC when they bought TSR, so I'll bet (even though I'm not a lawyer) they...

I've never been one to subscribe to D20 System Trademark License conspiracy theories, but this has definitely made me reconsider. What this looks like to me is an attempt by WotC to trick fans into creating Open Gaming Content for their ESD products, so they can re-release them as 3rd Edition...
