Wanna See The N.E.W. Introduction Chapter?

Love the layout! Nice use of TOS actors in the example of play.

AMA with Shanna Germain (author, editor, co-owner of Monte Cook Games, lead designer of No Thank You, Evil!)

Hi Shanna! In recent years, gaming has become fragmented between those who might be called advocates for free expression and those who favor diversity at all costs. MCG has seemingly tried to encourage both free expression and diversity, and has taken flak from both sides. Do you see any way to...

    First Full TITANSGRAVE Image!

Actually a little more interested after seeing this. I didn't quite realize how SF it would be, considering the core AGE book will be fantasy.

No Thank You, Evil! A Kids' RPG From Monte Cook Games

Fair enough. The bottom line is that being a parent in no way qualifies someone to be a professional game designer. If anything, the ability to get a good night's sleep makes the childfree designer more qualified. ;)

No Thank You, Evil! A Kids' RPG From Monte Cook Games

So we're counting the apology from an amateur caregiver as proof that those without children can't write RPGs for those with kids?

No Thank You, Evil! A Kids' RPG From Monte Cook Games

Neither do a lot of teachers. Fortunately, the people they sent the playtest packet to do have kids. I think their skills at professionally designing RPGs are just a little more relevant for designing RPGs regardless of target audience.

RIFTS Is Coming To SAVAGE WORLDS!

Wil Wheaton is co-writing a worldbook for Fantasy AGE, and the Tabletop series spin-off will feature that system and setting.

RIFTS Is Coming To SAVAGE WORLDS!

Agreed. Still having trouble believing this, even after seeing the PR up on Pinnacle's site. I think this easily has Green Ronin beat as "Gaming News Story of the Year".

RIFTS Is Coming To SAVAGE WORLDS!

Did anyone else think it was April 1st when They read this?

    ICv2 Fall/Winter 2014 Hobby Game Rankings: D&D Up To #1

Not to diminish the importance of which permutation of Dungeons & Dragons is in the top spot, (and imma gonna let you finish) but Numenera is #4! w00t!

    [UPDATED] What's Paizo's "Big News"?

Movie or TV deals are the only logical "big" announcements they could have left. Some variation of Paizo buying the D&D brand, or Pathfinder becoming a D&D imprint certainly would be big news, but that's all unlikely.

Do you allow electronics at your gaming table?

I once had an experience with a GM who when I came to a game with a loaded iPod touch (character sheet, books, dice roller) stated that he did not allow electronics at his table. I smiled at him, got up shook his hand and thanked him for his time and left. Everyone looked stunned like they...

TSR TSR's Lawrence Schick on the Development of The Known World

Thanks very much for this link! The Known World/Mystara remains my preferred D&D setting.

What's the most anticipated RPG of 2015?

Cypher System Corebook is another, and the one to which I'm most looking forward.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

If that's it, it would hardly be the biggest RPG story of the year (unless nothing else significant happens). I doubt the Dragon Age episodes were the biggest story of the year they happened. It's either something more revolutionary, or it's much ado about nothing. I'm leaning more to the...

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

I'm almost 100% sure it is not Elder Scrolls, for the reasons I stated in an earlier post. I just can't see Bethesda treating their IP as second-string to Dragon Age. Where I do agree with you, and I think you've solved the mystery, is that I believe it will be Shadow Realms. The PR said the...

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

To be fair, Dragon Age -is- a big, popular (again) console property.

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

Tamriel would be a big, big deal. But I have doubts for a different reason - perception of brand value. The setting is supposed to be a supplement for a generic Fantasy AGE book. Dragon Age (a competitor to Elder Scrolls in the digital arena) has its own core rulebook, but Elder Scrolls is...

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

Pinnacle has the Lankhmar license currently for an upcoming Savage Worlds setting. It was indeed just a licensed setting for TSR, too, but back then there were so few settings published that it "counted".

The Biggest RPG Story of the Year?

Speculation aside, WotC wouldn't even discuss licensing Mystara to Bruce Heard, though they obviously did license Dragonlance back to Weis in the past.
