World Wrestling Entertainment started using the WWE brand name to the exclusion of its formal name. There is some talk it was done to excise the stigmatized word "wrestling", but it was likely just a streamlining.

The first edition Monster Manual actually didn't have an XP value for critters. You needed the later DMG for that (or use the outdated stats from Monsters &Treasures or blue-book Basic). There were XP values in FF and MM2 though, of course. You're right about the lack of polish, though...

I don't hate it, but claiming "first edition feel" and then posting what looks like a black and white version of a Monstrous Compendium page (both layout and artwork) doesn't seem to fit.

Very cool! It also notes that non-human deities are listed in Appendix B of the PH(B). I think that's a new tidbit. Apparently the same appendix is coming to the basic rules, too.

At this point, I believe I'll personally most enjoy Great Old One Patron Warlocks and Arcane Trickster Rogues. But this is also the first edition that screams "I want to try them all!" To me.

I expect each rulebook will have a new disclaimer, much like old episodes of Hercules or Xena did. Fun stuff, and I approve!

The Pointer Sisters reference really gives me a chuckle, as my Mom bought their album "Break Out" the same day she bought me my second D&D product "Blizzard Pass". I heard that album multiple times through as I played the solo module. And yes, can't wait for July 3rd!

Yep. I suspect a build that mimicks that class will be included in any BECMI conversion document.

All-in-all, I'm pleased with what I heard about Basic. I do wish they would have included one multi-class option to accommodate the old Elven Fighter/Magic-User (er... Elf) class.

Probably. This is how they did it in BECMI modules if you needed an NPC spell from a higher level set.

I'm a prog-rock guy, but not much a Dark Sun guy... I always thought of it as having a punk aesthetic. Mystara... Now that's prog. Capes, gnomes and topographic oceans abound. Still, very interested where this goes. Hope it does better than Kevin J Anderson's work with Roswell Six and Neil Peart.

I was able to finish it on iOS Safari. The same glitch happened, but after I selected country, I waited 10 seconds for the state selector to load. Then it was fine and didn't empty the cart. Hope that helps.

I don't think I ever quite appreciated Dave Sutherland's work until just this moment. It wasn't just good by the standards of 1978... it's phenomenally good even now. Does he still work in the industry?

Well, thankfully it was better than I was expecting it to be. Most of the Saga of Star World episode was kept in, in altered form. There are analogies to most of the key points of the original. It almost seems like a Marvel Ultimates retelling of the same story. That said, my only real gripe is...

I'm a bit confused by this. Is Freedom City in a seperate universe from the META-4 setting? If so, I'm surprised they would split their fan-base so soon, though I guess it gives the possibility of an in-house "DC vs. Marvel" style adventure down the road.
