OotS 779: They Follow His Lead

Lead sheets are like wizards' familiars. They're only really there when you're using them.

What is the "r" in the southeast corner of the map?

    Is this still running?

Trouvere's game, T1: A Visit to Spelding Square, has also been stalled lately. Those are the only two current adventures, and neither of them seems to be healthy. Draw your own conclusions. If you'd like to submit a character or an adventure, by all means go ahead. This place is not dead, but...

T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

Ngikhnit starts pulling the net to the north, ready to trap the monster as soon as Pendrake can follow.

I'm thinking of Ian as probably CN -- rebels often have a chaotic tendency, and the political objective can colour a criminal as more benign than he'd otherwise be. But we haven't seen enough of him to say for sure (unlike some OotS characters about whom so many fans have long been in denial)...

T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

For want of any better ideas of his own, Ngikhnit turns as Pendrake directs, ready to continue the sweep.

    Oots 770

More precisely, in Haley's own words, "Chaotic Good! Ish!" (OK, technically, I guess her words were "Nyfewpm Reeu! Pvy!". But I know how to solve cryptograms.) I've always understood that to mean somewhere on the border between CG and CN, probably on the CG side. Ian is on the CN side, but as...

    OotS #769 is up!

I love that both Tarquin and Ian are committed to an interpretation of OotS that centres on their respective progeny. And the similarity absolutely stops there.

    (Proposal) Flaws

Except I don't see that as part of the character-judging process. I see that as a policy question, and LEW policy is discussed (by all interested players) and voted on (by all judges, not just character judges) in threads like this one. Character judging is a much more mechanical process --...

Discussion - General Discussion Thread '09

Profession skills are class skills for most, but not all, classes. Among the base classes, I think Fighter and Barbarian are the only ones that don't have Profession in their class skill list.

    (Proposal) Flaws

All judges not all character judges. The Guide to LEW currently lists nine judges (are all those currently active? I lose track.) Judges are the people who can approve adventure proposals, and monitor the adventures, as well as vote on house rules. The character judges are a subset of the judges...

    (Proposal) Flaws

Unless I'm missing something... I'm looking over the Flaws rules and I don't see anything about that option. As for time: we'll see. It can go quickly, if enough judges are attentive and active. It passes if (number of Yes) - (number of No) is at least three, for at least 48 hours.

    (Proposal) Character Traits

OK, first a couple of specific issues: The sentence I just struck, should be deleted. LEW does not use any random methods in character creation. It wouldn't make sense, since nothing in our rules prevents you from doing the equivalent of taking 20: creating a character, and if it doesn't come...

Opinions are welcome from everyone, but only judges get to vote.

I agree with that. For that reason, I agree with Zerith's rewording.

Epic progression was incorporated into the SRD by Wizards of the Coast, so yes, it is part of LEW's rules. But it is quite hypothetical. Given the pace of PbP play, and the turnover, I'd be really impressed if anyone manages to get to 20.

T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

Ngikhnit steps to the east, that Pendrake may swing his end of the net around to the west to continue to sweep to the south.

    (Proposal) Flaws

OK, there are many parts to this proposal: (A) Adopt the Flaw mechanics. (B) Approve all the flaws in the d20srd.com "Variant Rules" section (which I believe come from Unearthed Arcana). (C) Approve the 4 new flaws Zerith has posted. We can approve or reject these in many combinations -- in...
