To shrink wrap or not to shrink wrap...

Yes! I thought I was the only one annoyed at the shrinkwrapping of gaming books. My FLGS shrinkwraps a lot of their stuff...and it bugs the heck out of me when I can't examine a product before I buy it. I usually have to rely solely on reviews (which has proven quite helpful though) rather than...

[OT] What is your current desktop wallpaper?

Mine is a nice Neverwinter Nights one of a white dragon.

    So which is better?

I loved both immensely, but I think I ended up leaving the theater after The Two Towers with a slightly bigger grin on my face. :D ...and I can't wait for the extended Two Towers DVD!

[M&M] The Unofficial Marvel Character Stats Thread

Salutations! Well, as the result of severe boredom and Christmas vacation, I've decided to write up various Marvel superheroes using Mutants & Masterminds. I started with Cyclops, because he seemed to be fairly simple to work with. It reality, it actually took longer than I thought. :p The...

[Mutants & Masterminds] Powers/Secondary Effects as Power Stunts?

Hey! Thanks for clearing that up! Now I can get back to writing up more heroes... :)

[Mutants & Masterminds] Powers/Secondary Effects as Power Stunts?

Salutations! I received Mutants & Masterminds for Christmas today...its certainly one heckuva book, I'm glad I finally have it! :D The rules seem pretty solid, though I have two questions which I just cant seem to figure out. Some powers have a power stunt which allows them access to another...

Firefly 12-20-02 [2-hour original pilot, Spoilers]

When I finished watching the episode last night, I was truly impressed. Good dialogue, action and interesting characters. As a pilot episode this would've been excellent...still, as an origins episode it worked great as well (aside from the continuity thing). It reminded me why I love this...

Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - Best Quotes

Ah...gotta love Gimli... *Gimli falls off horse* "That was deliberate." *Gimli running with Aragorn and Legolas* "Need to remember to breathe...thats the key..." Not sure if that last one is exact, but close... :) -Aereon

    So, who's new?

Eridanis - Cool! Another person who lived in the bay area, in Fremont even. I moved to Fremont from SF in mid 2000 I believe, but at the time didn't game with anyone from the area so it's unlikely we've met...still its nice to find someone here who's probably been to the same game stores...

    So, who's new?

I have a confession to make... I admit it. I am a lurker. I've been reading the boards on ENWorld for...I guess it's more than half a year now? Probably longer than that. However...lately I've been trying to lose my lurker status by posting a bit ;) I know a whopping 21 posts doesn't...

    D20 Modern: The Matrix?

Hey! Well, I tried to bypass the two character sheets issue by making most of the Matrix abilities feats instead of actually changing the ability scores when in the Matrix. After all, Neo wasn't always stronger in the Matrix, only the short instances when he was able to convince himself to...

The Level of Roleplaying in a Game

Just checking up on this thread...let me say this: THANKS! There's a ton of useful info here that I'll utilize to the best of my abilities soon. Just to let you know, I've definitley decided not to dock XP, I was thinking that might be going overboard myself, and I don't want to force...

spycraft with more then three people

I ran a few Spycraft games with 4 people. If you're hoping for some nice stealthy spylike games I'd stick with a group of 3 or less. It can get chaotic with any more (especially when the group had an NPC aid). Firefights were also a bit of a pain to handle with a large group of people...

    Monstrous PCs

Anything that's either humanoid or goblinoid I'd say would work (again - provided theres decent reasoning). Anything else than that and I'd see it a bit of a difficulty to work in unless I'm running a very specific setting or the player(s) have something big planned and work it out beforehand...

    Monstrous PCs

I'd be fine with pretty much any Monstrous PC in my games as long as it fits in and the characters have a decent background. I'd also hope the monstrous class is played with the appropriate ECL. :) -Aereon

The Level of Roleplaying in a Game

Thanks! Again, excellent stuff everyone. :) I'll definitely be talking some of these ideas over with the players and see what they think will work. One interesting fact, The Its Man, since you brought up the shopkeeping thing...surprisingly enough, the times when the group seems to roleplay...

The Level of Roleplaying in a Game

Good ideas, thanks! I'll keep them in mind when I run the game (in a week or so). Keep 'em coming! :)

The Level of Roleplaying in a Game

Salutations! I'm facing a bit of a problem, and hoping you wise people will be able to help me out once again. In most of the games I DM, there isn't a great deal of roleplaying going on. Not all of the players just seem to get into their character roles. This isn't so much of a problem for...
