Messing up Shelter From The Storm

Yeah, that might work. Thanks for the tip. They didn't seem to be discouraged by the firestorm which the gnome pointed out several times during his speech and afterwards. If anything it seemed to make them even more eager to go.

Can I make the Whip work ?

I found that a +1 Whip of Wounding worked quite well for my bard when they switched the hp bleeding to Con damage in 3.5.

Messing up Shelter From The Storm

The War Council After defeating the witches the party buys a house in the south harbor with the reward Lee gave them. They find out that academy mages have captured a devil based on their report about the thugs who attacked them when they first came to Seaquen. They talked to her and Khelic...

Vampires... do they ever need to feed on blood?

Rules in Libris Mortis explains what happens when vampires and other draining undead can't feed for a while. Basically they become increasingly feral, stupid and reckless the hungrier they get. They never die from hunger, of course. It seems to be a psychological dependency and not a physical one.

Messing up Shelter From The Storm

The surviving characters and npcs arrived at Seaquen with no more trouble (since I forgot about the elven patrol *sigh*) until they had passed through the refugee camp. I had decided to use a bandit attack to introduce the new characters, so a couple of thugs who had been charmed by the devil...

Messing up Shelter From The Storm

I'll start writing a bit about the campaign we're playing here. I'm starting at the third adventure since I've forgotten too much details from the first two, but I might fill them in as I recall them later on. Anyway, the title of the thread is referrig to how I've messed up the campaign by...

    NPC Motivations?

My players' characters have become friends, of a sort, with Lee Sidoneth. I could use some ideas on what motivates Lee's actions in the adventure, since the heroes might decide to ask him at some point in the future. Spoilery question: Why is he betraying Seaquen?

    My Campaign Thus Far...

I saw this one coming so I have prepared a different set of stats for the hags using non-classed monsters with interesting abilities (an annis, a green hag and a harpy). They will just use the stats for these creatures while they still keep their original appearances in order to confuse the...

    WotBS halflings in WotBS

ARghrbrbhlbhelgh! Personally I hate gnomes and remove them from the world at any opportunity I get. Now I learned that one of the adventures feature a gnome clan. Is it possible to replace the gnomes with halflings or will that be too much work?

    New Design: Wizards...

Can't you use your amazing powers of precognition to tell us more about how these things work instead? I'm more interested in the actual facts than your opinions.

    Shelter from the Storm Flowchart

This looks like a good idea, I'll probably steal it for my own game. Thanks!

Leader Role: The end of the cleric?

Sounds good to me. It gets old playing religious characters all the time. Give me a secular option!

D&D 3.x The 4E Monster Manual -- what 3.5 monsters need the axe?

Then I don't understand it either. Can you elaborate for those of us who joined during the 3.x era and don't know where mephits come from or what they are supposed to be about? To me they seem to be just weak and annoying elementals. I've also used them as minor servants of deities, temple...

The fighter and the paladin pretty well ganged up on the knight & stole his stuff

You'd rather have bad original concepts than good stolen ideas? Just because something is original doesn't mean it's automatically good. The fact that many others have stolen the same idea is usually a hint that it's a good idea. See, that's an example of an original idea that is incredibly bad!

    The New Core Pantheon

Couldn't care less. I don't think we've ever used the gods in the core rules. The group I play with made up our own gods which we use in all our game worlds except Forgotten Realms - presumably because the gods of FR are so important to the world or something, while at the same time being the...

    D&D 4E SWSE Experiences & 4E Hunches

I don't have a problem with it, really, but it struck me as odd that my 1st level Jedi had Use the Force +13 and a level 20 Darth Vader has +17...

New tidbit about spells and hit points.

So then there is no real danger. Seems like it would be easier and more exciting to reduce the risk of dying all the time due to random rolls and then remove the resurrection cop-out so that when someone actually dies due to real actual failure they actually stay dead.

    D&D 4E will 4e be "gamisticly correct" ?

Removing as many of the boring ways to fail as possible is a good start. The random and arbitrary ways must be the first to go. If I fail because of my own decisions I'll accept it and move on. If I fail because of a random roll of the dice I guess I'll accept that too but it won't feel like I...
