T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Man, writing is easy. You just stare at the screen until blood drips from your eyes. That big battle scene just didn't want to come. Maybe I'll speed up a bit, now it's done. Maelcum levelled to 8 after that and somehow gained +3 to hit -- 1 for DEX going 17 to 18, 1 for BAB, and 1 for his...

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

... continued ... The explosion was at floor height, in a corner, not quite under one of the infirmary cots, at the end of the row. It lifted the nearest patient half a meter, spraying blood and fur around the room, and dumped him on the floor. Splinters from the disintegrating cot joined the...

    Art in books

I'm sorry, but I think almost all decorative RPG art sucks. I'd rather have books with no art and a discount. Useful illustrations, mind you, are a different matter. Many publications (especially adventures) omit them where they should be included -- maps, building plans, starship deckplans...

We figured out what d12's are for!

I wish to defend the humble d12. It provides an ideal compromise between not-flying-off-at-right-angles-all-the-bloody-time-like-d6s and not-having-faces-too-small-to-see-like-d20s. It is the prince of dice. * goes off to design a d12 dice pool game *

What area in Greyhawk is good to start a campaign?

You might look at the Archbarony of Blackmoor in the NW corner. I planned out a NWN campaign there some time back, but it never got going for "player reasons". Attractions included: - Pretty remote, small scale, the biggest town is about 1700 people. Lots of little villages and small...

The Liberation of Tenh (updated April 24)

    * does another "Meepo in mangle" impression * Well, it got an update last time I tried it.

    Who's from the UK?

I'm originally from Essex (Romford) but I now live in Woking, Surrey. I think I'm about 38. Married to a computer. The books own the house, and they keep hinting that it's time I got a place of my own. I run a weekly T20 Traveller game with one player (Woking is limited) at my house. More...

Piratecat's Updated Story Hour! (update 4/03 and 4/06)

Thank you, PCat. Thank you, Defs past and present. That was good.

Good norse campaign setting? Old or New?

You could take a look at Wayfarer's Song and see if it floats your boat. It's set in the world the Norse made myths about, rather than the world they lived in. It's one of the few fantasy settings that grabs me. Free PDFs. Not D20.

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Act V: Kerin's Tyr - The Battle of Sarragh's Stead (I) Date: 193-993 Imperial. Location: Kerin’s Tyr (0620), the Liberty Alliance, Sarragh’s Stead. It turned out that they had two days. Maelcum got his trenches, dugouts and firing points but not his barbed wire – the messenger went off to...

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

*ow ow* Er, um, yeah. Still here. Stuff happened. Next update half-written (and has been for months). Well I suppose I should get something together then. Be back in a day or two.

So I guess this is the end of the campaign? Thanks, Capellan, it has been a great read. Fun game, fun narration.

[Story Hour Authors] How Far Behind Are You From Current Action in your Story Hour?

I tend to write in three-four hour bursts, which give me about half an update, and my updates are shorter than Piratecat's. Damn these people who can write...

About 3-4 sessions behind, but the campaign finished a year ago.

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Yeah, they're all there. My idea of ship design is "Google for somebody else's if you can", but I've done some T20 ships and there are design systems for vehicles and robots and computers too. It's all pretty similar to CT in use, except the numbers come out a few percent different.

T20 Traveller - The Kursis Charter (complete Aug 8th 2005)

Not really -- Broccoli_Head's SH seems to have faded away (and mine, um, ah...). You could check out Raconteur's Rest They're about the same. The main reason to play T20 is it's D20 -- if you already know/have D20, or the people you inted to play with do, then you need a pretty good reason to...

    Blatant Self-Promotion of Story Hours?

Feedback, commentary, questions, answers, advice, praise, jokes, gossip, interesting tangents: fine, excellent, wonderful. The word "bump" and nothing more: burn 'em at the stake. Some people take out subscriptions to SH threads they like so they'll be notified by email when there's a new...

Piratecat's Updated Story Hour! (update 4/03 and 4/06)

I was thinking that if I were KidC I might like to play the Phoenix ("Rides the Flame"?), at least for a while. Given that Nolin mentioned something about swanning around with the Phoenix after death, back in that "do we want to be raised" conversation, I even wonder if Nolin is still "sort of...

If you could try a RPG that ISN'T D&D...

Try some different gaming experiences. Dust Devils Shoot, or give up the gun. Life in the old west, with every PC driven by a (psychological) devil. Instead of rolling hits and damage, or success/failure, you roll to see who at the table describes what happens. Except you don't roll, you draw...
