    Discussing problems with D&D/d20 rules...

Well it seems we have this thread again at the EnWorld boards where KK is preaching Hârn and Psion counters, and it goes on and on and on... :o Anyway I do not object to KK finding his gaming heaven with Hârn or that Psion is is counter-attacking anything he writes, but I do have a "problem"...

    Very useful free encounters pdf

And more are coming. When I do not map and write for Columbia Games Inc. I will focus some of my free work on generic floorplans that can be used with any setting or any system. I have heard that there is a demand for free maps and such. :D

    Any good solo adventure modules/adventures

You could always have a look at my 101 Encounters Document. It is meant for the Harn RPG but since it is without any rules, it could EASILY be converted to any setting or system. Have a look at This Link

Searching for a Brutal, and Harsh Setting.

Hey, I resent that! :p Actually this really made me laugh right out even though I am a 100% Hârnfan. I wouldn't recommend Hârn to this guy though. Too dark and gritty probably and it has no drow and the like. Stick with something else (dunno what though). :)

4 mini reviews: Nyambe, Mercenaries, Liber Bestarius, and Lost Tomb of Kruk-Ma Kali

Yes this is correct except for a few who were either paid well (Royal Guards and the like) or not at all (Templars etc.).

    Fantasy Europe Setting/Game?

Well if you want a real feel 100% you need to buy a time machine like Olive wrote... :p However I can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed with Hârn if you are looking for that type of game. Have a look at my site and download some of the castles, adventure encounters and so on and...

    Fantasy Europe Setting/Game?

You could also try Hârn because IMO it is the only RPG that really gets that medieval gritty feeling. It is extremely detailed too. And can be used with d20 if you have the right guide. Try: www.harnlink.com www.shadowharn.net www.swordsandshields.org www.columbiagames.com

    Adventure Encounters...

Maybe this is not what people are looking for but a few on-line friends of mine just finished a 78pp (680Kb only) document originally meant for the Hârn RPG, that details developed encounters that has turned out as small adventures. It can be used with any system in any setting with very little...

    Q for the Harn people

Ok for those looking for a Hârn adventure or encounter presented in an adventure format, I advise you to download this document: http://w1.406.telia.com/%7Eu40607851/download5/encounters.pdf If you do not game in Hârn I suspect that this article can with ease be ported into your D&D game. The...

    Q for the Harn people

Hey, thanks. If you like maps like those found in TroBridge, but for free, download stuff from my website. I have several villages, one castle and one abbey for those looking for something for their game. You will get both extrerior and interior maps. :) But you will have to wait until later...

    Q for the Harn people

As a newbie to the world I would recommend that you pick up Web of the Widow, 100 Bushels of Rye, and Dead of Winter. Note that these adventure scenarios are not meant to be rail-roading but more open ended. You could also try Auran's adventures. But you are better off getting to these two...

    Harniacs vs. d20/D&D players

Now you made me curious since I have seen both worlds and I for one can't relate to your post at all. What Hârn modules have you been reading exactly? Mind you that I own over 50+ books (and dozens of close related ones) of medieval history and they are quite similar to many of the Hârnic...

    Harniacs vs. d20/D&D players

I think the above is what all people who game Hârn could relate to, and I for one am hard pressed to find a better description. But Hârn is not the only game that is as extreme I would think. Tekumel, although I am describing this through a friend who is a mega-fan, also has a special fan base...

    Your ideal campaign setting?

Being a fan of the Hârn setting there should really not be any other favorite world that I would prefer to game in right? Wrong! If I found a setting as detailed as Hârn I without the orcs, beasts, and the demi-humans I would change in a heartbeat. The Book of Words Triology starting with The...

    Harniacs vs. d20/D&D players

That is also one reason you do not game Hârn and I do. I not only love the detail in the game, and it does turn me on, I have also a bookshelf filled with medieval history books and novels. I would say besides the 40+ or so kingdom, castles, manor, guild, regional, cities, rule books, religion...

    Harniacs vs. d20/D&D players

You are entitled to an opinion of course even if I do not stand behind it. I do not say that you need a degree in English to understand Hârn or that D&D is written for the feeble minded capable of only understanding a mild text version of a game. But I can't for one single moment say that (I am...
