    Even more Mike Mearls

Thats the more relevant point. They crunched the numbers, and found that any reasonable implementation of Armour-as-DR didn't work from a maths/mechanical perspective. That said ANYTHING that cuts the number of steps and mental calculations involved in combat = good thing.

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

No offence, but I believe it's poor form to re-open a thread after it's closed. You might want to ping one of the mods (if you haven't already).

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept?

You mean "I" not "all of us" I assume? (tbh, I'm with Maggan and FE - I can't say I particularly care for the feat name - but I simply don't think it's nearly as doom-and-gloom as it's made out)

And there's an argument that if you rarely use it, should it stay in the game as-is, or be re-examined?

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept?

I don't know about you, but Dwarves suddenly being able to become wizards certainly changed the fluff in some campaigns I've run. D&D has always done this sort of thing with a new edition. I do find it ironic that 4e is getting a lot of flack for introducing flavour to feats, whereas 3e was...

D&D 4E Post here if you ARE going to 4E!

i'll finish up my 3.5e game sometime over the next year - and will almost certainly give 4e a bash.

D&D 3.x 3e beginnings (why first impressions are not always the right ones)

oh yeh - I remember making a bunch of house rules before really reading it - and certainly before running/playing it. (though a friend was worse - he wrote up nearly 100 pages of house rules - and never played a single session of unmodified 3e)

    D&D 4E Reported post: 4E: A Mid-Life Crisis(3905596)

Original post: in Thread 4E: A Mid-Life Crisis Reason: Hi - Entertaining post, but poss. a bit mysogynistic? (i.e. a "milf who puts out"). Regards. Assigned Moderators: (mods who got the Email) April O'Neil, Creideiki, d6, Darkness, Dinkeldog, Dinkeldog2, el-remmen, Eridanis, Henry...

DMG to include a "starter town".

Whoah there fella - want to dial back the snark a few notches? Personally I think the idea is great - even as an experienced DM, there are times when I'm winging it, and a quick look at a sample town provides some mental structure to make some more stuff up... And for new DMs, it's not so much...

1 year of 3.5e...How has the conversion gone?

    2. its not the best thing since sliced bread, but its a better game than 3.0.

    Khorvaire:Two Problems

Quoted for truth. This was my thought as well, when I saw the comments about the pop levels. If I recall correctly, the column on the wizards site discussed the scars from the last war, both physical and psychological. It doesnt seem that much of a jump to translate the psycholgical effects of...

    Iron Kingdoms (aka RPG Vapourware)

nope = shorthand for i respectfully disagree. And my issue with pp is not the fact that the IK game is no longer interesting because its no longer the "new thing" Rather some frustration that (1) PP have not only put the game out much later than announced - and specifically that they were...

    Iron Kingdoms (aka RPG Vapourware)

nope. theres merit in ensuring that you ar putting out a quality product, and then theres what PP have done. "Hey it'll be out soon" "really" "honest" "we are finishing the layout" (a month or so later) "well, its actually 800 pages, so its 2 books now" etc. its not so much them taking the...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo - Scourge of Old Worlds?

True - others however have a much different threshhold as to what change they will accept. I have, for example seen much wailing and gnashing of teeth re: the paladin/sorc issue. As far as the changes go (and the PS changes you refer to are substantial), one would normally hope that the...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo - Scourge of Old Worlds?

flogging dead horse... If i falsely attributed the quote to you, my apologies - however the "do it right or dont do it at all" viewpoint, seems closely tied to the fan ownership theory. Which I have some sympathy for. However I would disagree with your point as to the person should buy 3e...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo - Scourge of Old Worlds?

Interesting - if I understand you correctly, you claim that the devotion of the fans to a setting gives them a certain amount of "ownership" over the future direction of the material. So for any person new to the hobby, or someone who never bought the setting when it came out, their only...
