Tell me about Castles and Crusades

Hrm...well...if the character has turned into said critter, I'd say the critter now has more defined ability scorses. One could always add the hit die of the monster or the characters level to 'beef' up any neccessary stats. Or alternatively the person doing the polymorphing could simply roll...

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

Really? We must have been playing two different games. ;) Someone still needs to do the customizing and painting though. ;) In other words, ya need people. Rules are not nearly as important as people.

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

I guess it comes down to the 'amount of detail' problem. Perhaps some folks find it easier to add 5% to a set of rules than subtract 90% of rules they don't need? (to cite an extreeme as an example) Thats the most likely scenario I imagine?

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

Probably wouldnt even need a lot of house rules for a daggermaster. Most of the neccessary is already inherent in the game. Weapons Spec (already inherent in fighter) Perhaps a fighter with dex prime for ranged weapons. And Combat Dominance. Said dagger becomes rather lethal against low HD...

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

*wry smile* I think my point flew away. The point, in short, is that 'character development' is not just a function of rules. Rules serve as a base foundation, but are not the end all and be all of the game. Character development has always been about the evolving story of the character...

Tell me about Castles and Crusades

Monsters do have ability scores, in a sense. They have a Physical (STR, DEX CON) and/or Mental (INT WIS CHA) Primes.

    AD&D 2e kit with C&C classes

I dont think you will find that much resistance at all. I think the kits would make a fine series of templates for new class variant designs. As others have suggested, I'd approach the problem like constructing a new class, work out how the abilties plug into an xp table, consider which prime...

How Quickly is C&C Catching on?

Essentially correct. If its simple enough for a non numbers guy like me too do it should be cake for anyone. AC goes up instead of down and the Physical and or Mental prime is already more or less built into AD&D monster stats anyhow. Any creature that has a high int is readily identifyable as...

    Review: Blue Rose (Long)

Me too. I'm thinking that BR, C&C and Lejendary Adventures would complement nicely.

Ten observations on Castles & Crusades compared to d20.

I believe the CKG will have the addidional progression information. I am not sure if that is going to include any extra abilities or not. I dont think the 1's are typo's

Ten observations on Castles & Crusades compared to d20.

I suspect that might be one of those things left intentionally vague so people could 'fill in the blank' on their own. I for one, and the groups I played with, certainly never put a 'cap' on the damage. Made the spell caster more powerful, but it also made said caster more cautious when...

How Quickly is C&C Catching on?

Well Im not Mr Chenault but I can tell you for certain that the C&C Players guide is out on the market. The C&C nostalgia boxed set (which has a mini module in it) is available for order directly from the TLG company or can be picked up at conventions. The rest is pending and or headed to the...

How Quickly is C&C Catching on?

Hell mate, thats just gamers in general. I notice a consistent theme to the effect of no matter how many points gamers can find to agree on, they have more fun taking contrary fine points and beating them till they are a soggy mess. Which is not neccessarily a bad thing, at least we're...

How Quickly is C&C Catching on?

*laughs* I'll grant you that one. Although i find that people think my particular gaming style is passing strange as well. Takes all kinds to make an rpg experience :)
