D&D 5E (2014) Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

As far as I have understood things, those that sign up will participate in the playtest. How exactly it's going to be distributed, I do not know.

D&D 5E (2014) Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

According to WotC and Mearls, the Friends and Family Playtest, which is what has been running for the last 3 months or so, is made up of 1100+ playtesters. I am guessing you are either wrong, or that you have some freakishly huge hands ;)

    4th edition conversions?

Considering they are still in Alpha, what are the chances that they have any sort of conversion document ready? Anyway, the answer to your question is: no.

D&D 5E (2014) Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

Good or bad? That's really hard to say. I thought it was great to have Monte on board for 5e, because although 3.x is far from my favorite edition, I still think he is a really good designer. But I do not think 5e is necessarily doomed without him. Depends in which way he was pulling the game...

Cleric design goals . Legends and Lore April 23

They mentioned in the most recent podcast that they had taken TU away from the cleric only to put it back in after playtest feedback. Sounds as if it is fairly safe to assume that the cleric can turn undead, even though it is not mentioned in the article.

I just pressed the button and it played directly on my iPad. Not sure iTunes is a must.

    DnD Podcast April 13

Heraldry is mentioned as a skill! Core rules will look like Basic DnD, while classes will look more like the AD&D classes with a few more features, especially for fighters and rogues at higher levels. Ninjaed :(

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Lingua Franca, or 5e really, REALLY needs to create it's own new "space"

Actually, the close part means that the burst is centered on the caster, as opposed of an area burst, which is centered elsewhere.

What D&D Tool/App are you looking for?

Perhaps I did. It's just that normally you are so creative, at least that is my impression of you, and making an initiative tracker, is so not - IMO, of course. Anyway, I wish you luck, and hope you can still surprise me ;)

What D&D Tool/App are you looking for?

Yeah. News of an initiative tracker leaves me fairly cold. I must admit I expected something more from you. :(

    Dear WotC: Be Blizzard

DDI should be able to sustain them for a long time, unless people are already cancelling left and right. I must admit, that I haven't bothered checking.

    Any news on playtesting?

When they said spring, did anyone really expect the playtest to be out before May?

Halls of Undermountain - What is known?

Weird, could have sworn I saw Matt tweet that it wasn't. Will take your word over my memory though. Thanks for clearing it up.
