D&D 5E (2014) Should I bother to subscribe to DDI if 5e is coming?

Hah! You mean you are pro-speculation, it's an important part of getting people to come to and use your web-site? ;)

How many people subscribe to D&D stuff?

I think we just disagree on a fundamental level on just about everything. When you say WotC is lieing, it is, considering many of them are fellow posters, just as personal as my examples where I made up ridiculous stuff about Monte and Mearls. I also don't think your theory has anything to do...

How many people subscribe to D&D stuff?

First of all, my question from earlier still remains unanswered. Do you question all companies, or just WotC? Also, while it's healthy to have a certain amount of scepticism, it can be taken too far. I mean, if you don't believe anything they say, why even bother reading about it? How far do...

How many people subscribe to D&D stuff?

    1. You had very little substantial arguments to support your "theory". 2. Your motives are interesting, because, according to your own theory, the perception of the online community is very important. And if you are right about that, why are you promoting a theory that makes WotC a bunch of...

How many people subscribe to D&D stuff?

So despite you saying that you weren't suggesting WotC was cheating with the numbers (in your first post), it seems to me that it is exactly what you ar saying. I wonder, do you have similar view towards Pathfinder's 50k beta download claim, or is it just WotC that are subject to your theories?

How many people subscribe to D&D stuff?

Exclude it. Only rabid anti-WotC trolls would even consider that they (WotC) would engage in such cheating - and for what?

D&D 5E (2014) Should I bother to subscribe to DDI if 5e is coming?

I doubt that WotC will drop the current DDI just because 5e comes out. They know that making a new edition loses them customers, because they stay with the old edition. By keeping the DDI up and running, they might lose some more, but they also ensure a steady revenue from those players...

For example, in our group of 6, only I have ever logged in to the Community section at WotC.

    D&D 5E (2014) Weighing in on 5e

Okay, sorry about first post. Came off quite a bit more snarky than intended. But I must admit that Kzach and RW go against everything I want in 5e. delericho on the other hand, hits much closer to home. If we go from 4e as a base, feats should only give out typed bonuses or abilities that are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Weighing in on 5e

I just wanted to chip in and say that I am glad none of you are designing 5e.

    Legens&Lore: Monte Cook takes over

I doubt they would be bringing in Monte Cook if 5e was anywhere near completion.

Wow, I really hope the OMB can export as a picture, just like the original MB.

Pfft, Fzoul is like my favorite FR NPC! (I know, it's shallow, but I can't help loving that ginger bastard)

    underwhelmed with Neverwinter Campaign Setting

Indeed. I have already made a whole new campaign, based on the area, in a world of my own. Very easy. Now all I need to do is wait for my players to TPK ;)

What's a good starting level for a "You are mighty heroes" campaign?

There are several ways to deal with inexperienced players starting at paragon. One way is not to start them at paragon. You could for example run 3 sessions (at lvl 3, 6 and 9 for example) where they get to know their characters. Perhaps in flash-backs (since they are level 11 at the real...

What's a good starting level for a "You are mighty heroes" campaign?

Considering the baseline for the tiers in 4e, Paragon level sounds the most suited, and in that case, I would start them at level 11, for the most well-rounded experience. While I understand the desire of scaling a campaign by the players' level, I have tried it, and it made for (warning...

    Your best Monster

Hmm, no vote function on Taptalk, but I have a special place in my heart for ghouls, trolls, mindflayers and most of all dragons
