Fairly positive here as well. While we aren't playing Next exclusively, as my players prefer long campaigns, Next definitely scratched an itch for us, so much that we left 4e and went back to 2e, while waiting for Next to be complete.

Did you read the article? Because he specifically mentions people "leaving" the playtest. While you are certainly right in your statement, I think he just means that the number of people providing feedback is increasing. YMMV OFC.

According to Mike Mearls, the number of playtesters is steadily increasing. So much for moving on ;)

Aye, I just re-read it and that is indeed what the article says. How is that less than what they had before? It isn't. Wizards had 9 daily spells in the previous playtests and clerics had the same. Which is why I assumed it was a typo and he meant spell-level.

The change to casters doesn't sound like something I will like. So at 5th level, you can cast your at-will and 5 spells? Actually that's (for wizards) only one less daily than in 2e and then you add in at-will(s) and traditions. Might work. If healing gets moved from the cleric spell list, it...

Not sure it was possible in 1e (or got changed for 2e) but spider climb is a cool spell. Utilily and spellcaster killer all in one. Although not creative per say.

I still have my subscription. I don't play 4e anymore, and I don't think we will ever return, and I rarely ever read the articles. It's a bit like my ENworld sub. I am not sure why I still have it. Guess I am just too lazy to bother cancelling it. /shrug. Maybe they will do something that will...

I must admit, it looks awesome. First game that seriously tempts me to stray from dnd. Then again, it is dnd. It's 4e as it could have been.
