    Options and Multiclassing...

Note that you only choose lower level powers from your multiclass because there aren't any higher level powers from that class available when you get your paragon powers. Also, you might look at your multiclass's paragon paths to see if they're a better fit than just going further into the base...

What modifies hit and damage for "Basic" attacks?

Yes, I believe they have the Weapon keyword. Which means you add proficiency to the roll (but I can't find it at the moment).

D&D 4E 4E, Healing, and Suspension of Disbelief

What's the quote again? "You seem to have internalized the flaws of 3e so deeply that you mistake them for virtues."

Magic Rings - no level restriction?

I don't think low-level rings add anything to the game. I applaud WotC for making rings into something powerful and memorable, even if the 'hard cap' was removed.

    Looking for...

I was comparing it recently to a normal charge, and I had myself convinced that it just didn't stack up, dealing less damage at a smaller attack bonus. And then I went back and read the racial power again. "And knocked prone" makes it worthwhile.

D&D 4E 4e -- Is The World Made Of Cheese?

Hahaha! I think I like that more than John Gabriel's Greater Internet Jerkwad Theory. EDIT: I honestly don't understand how people disagree with this statement. And yet we have the internet, replete with Something Awful and Fark and the like, dedicated to the tearing down and mocking of...

    New Diseases

I absolutely love the new disease rules, and they're crying out for homebrew, magical diseases. So I've statted up some new diseases. I have no idea about where to set the level or Maintain/Improve DCs for these, so help out if you can. Tinderskin: Your skin cracks and flakes, catching fire...

    Gnomes and Half-Orc Run Amok

Only if you couldn't play full elves, because they were always murderous wilderness savages. A half-elf exists because people wanted to play half-elves. The half-orc existed because people wanted to play full orcs and weren't allowed to.

D&D 4E 4e -- Is The World Made Of Cheese?

I don't know the number off the top of my head, but it's the one that goes "I can't go to bed. There's someone WRONG on the internet!" EDIT: Ah, it's number 386

The new FAQ and armor proficiency

That statement is there only for other feat prereqs. It "counts" as a feat only when you need it as a prereq. All other times it's a class feature. Frankly I don't see the point in punishing a character extra by taking away his class features when he's already completely unsuited to being...

    The thing about monstrous races...

I think the nasty disadvantages suck any fun out of playing a 'monstrous' race.

    Lycanthropes.

I really like this. If ever I need infected werewolves in my game, this is how I'll be doing it. Well, that or "infect lots of people with moon fever, and the few that survive get kidnapped for our werewolfism ritual."

    Multiclass Feat Weirdness?

Not at all. Not at all. Take a 1st level character in 4e who has taken a multiclass feat, and compare it to any first level character in 3rd. The 4th edition character at level 1 is far more multiclassed than was possible at 1st level in 3rd edition.

    Multiclass Feat Weirdness?

I've been looking at that, and I think I'd give multiclass-warlock paragon characters the following ability: Warlock's Curse*: As a minor action, you can curse the closest enemy. Unlike the Warlock class ability, this deals no extra damage; however, an enemy you've cursed with this ability...

    Multiclass Rules

I agree completely with this. The 4e multiclassing feats give you everything from a class that you couldn't get through other feats (skills, weapons, and armor), while keeping class archetypes stable.

    Multiclass Feat Weirdness?

It's just scary to you because you want it to be like it used to be. Problem is, the way it used to be was pretty broken.

    Thrown weapons and multiple targets

I actually like that rule. The idea of carrying around dozens of +4 throwing axes is even more silly to me than the idea that the 'returning' enchantment on a throwing weapon is 'standard issue'. And I could swear that I read in the book that the action cost of a power includes the time...

Out of Healing Surges - what now?

I thought of this as well. If I've read you right and you have a paladin PC as well, the 'spent' character's player should be buddying up to him as well.

    Tissue-Paper Dungeons?

There is much wisdom in this post. Carving through solid stone with an adamantine spoon so you can bypass all the work the DM put into the adventure is boring and annoying, so we throw that result out.

    Poisons? You're kidding right?

The biggest problem I can see with 4e is that people are unable to understand the difference between game effect and story effect.
