If WOTC gave us a preview from MM1...?

The new Rust Monster actually sounds better than the old one. I was never one to be or enjoy playing under an adversarial DM, and the whole "Ha Ha! I screwed you dumb punks over yet again!" playstyle grates on me. As for some sort of MM1 teaser, I would like to see lycanthropes.

    Humans as a generic race

I'm pretty sure that humans will get a free weapon proficiency. R&C had a couple paragraphs about all humans knowing how defend themselves and their homes with a weapon. Other than that, I don't know. Probably an extra Second Wind, but that's also supposed to be a dwarven thing...

Undead, as monsters or as templates?

Monsters, definitely. The stats for a gnoll zombie and an orc zombie are pretty much the same. It's all in how I describe it to my players.

    PoL & population density

I agree, that was unhelpful and insulting, not to mention almost certainly false. And even if Irda Ranger has an advanced degree in population biology, who cares? Fantasy. Roleplaying. Game. 4e has deliberately chosen a 'gamist' approach rather than (IMO) mind-numbing 'simulationsim', and I...

    D&D 4E 4E Exotic Weapons?

A katana is exotic because the developers thought it* was too powerful to be a martial one-handed weapon. That is all. *EDIT: I mean, of course, the stats that they gave the katana.

    D&D 4E 4E Exotic Weapons?

I loved exotic weapons. Reality be damned, give me exotic weapons that are cool and worth using.

    D&D 4E Are Lizardfolk Confirmed for 4e?

I personally hope they use the Poison Dusk variety as the standard Lizardfolk. They worked really well without having the problem of racial hit dice that MM1 lizardfolk did.

Ghaele, Bralani, etc. as Monsters or Paragon Paths?

No. I remember flipping through the Monster Manual and thinking, "great, more super-powered Good Outsiders who should be out there doing the PC's jobs better and quicker instead of wafting about somewhere being pretty and un-fightable and moaning about their ennui. Why are these even in here?"...

    Please call female deities 'goddesses.'

I didn't even notice, honestly. But 'God' is perfectly fine terminology.

    Races and Classes, Two-Weapon Fighting?

Nothing official re: 4e, but they're gone from SWSE, so it's a good bet. Personally I'm glad they're gone - your secondary/tertiary attacks rarely hit and can bog down the pace of combat. Maneuvers should easily make up for any extra damage from your +5 iterative, and far more reliably, as well.

The Tielfling and The Gnome: On the Set of 4th edition

For what it's worth, I love the teefling's huge horns and I love the new gnome design. And the badger. Who's my minion? Who's my ickle widdle minion?

D&D 4E 4e Races and Classes: "Why we changed the gods"

I see so many people complaining about a purported "failure of imagination". What I'm really hearing from these people seems instead to be complaining about a "failure of Wizards to read my mind and enshrine the peculiarities of my taste in the PHB." I don't know if they mean it like this, but...

D&D 4E 4e Races and Classes: "Why we changed the gods"

I've done the homebrew thing, and I enjoyed it. But for 4e, I'm starting out in the generic PHB setting, detailing the starting locale and winging it from there. It's going to be a lot of fun.

R&C Spotlight Interview with Michelle Carter

I agree with this. Repeat after me, people: Fantasy. Game. I care not one whit for 'practical'-looking weapons; give me designs that stoke the fires of my imagination. And I love the new tiefling. It is all sorts of 125% amazing. I want to see more pics of the dragonborn, but they look...

Effects lasting until the end of the encounter, w00t!

Why would it be required? Variable length of scenes doesn't offend my sensibilities.

Effects lasting until the end of the encounter, w00t!

I prefer to call them arbitrary and impossible to keep track of.
