    Healing Potions seem odd

What's wrong with it is that it's thematically stupid. "Let's poke ourselves with thirty magic sticks until our intestines coil back up" is not the kind of fantasy action roleplaying game I want to play. I'd much rather have 'adrenaline surge' healing potions.

    Retraining basic attacks

No, it's not valuable. It's nitpicking 'gotcha' behavior, and it assumes that games won't have a GM.

What all is included in [W]?

[W] is just the dice from the weapon and nothing else.

Warlock's Curse and Hunter's Quarry - Can enemies see it?

I agree; I'd rule that the target knows something's 'not right', but not anything like "Hey guys, look at the pointy arrow over my head. Someone's cursed me from over in those bushes."

    You grab someone, now what?

Well, the Orc is merely immobilized - i.e, can't move, but can still attack. Any area attacks you try to call down he's gonna get a free swing at your guts.

D&D 4E 4e's Inorganic Loot System: Yay or Nay?

No, I think the idea is that monsters and NPCs don't need magic weapons to be a threat. It's not that you're not allowed to pick up the drows' magic blades, it's that the drow don't need magic blades to whup you something fierce. In essence, you can't loot the monsters' years of training. If...

    Developer Talk = Gospel?

    Wow, jensun. I wish I hadn't seen that. That's...something I can't unsee.

    Reviewing the Artificer

These are incredibly bad ideas. It seems like you're still thinking in terms of 3rd Edition. The only thing I'd do if I wanted to make the Artificer 'feel' like an item crafter would be to give her the ritual automatically, and maybe one level early. Anything else would quickly obliterate the...

How drunk do I get? - need rules for intoxication

I would agree; Endurance is definitely the skill to use.

    Reviewing the Artificer

One of the problems I see is that the Artificer was itself an artifact of the crumbling spell system of 3.x, designed specifically to take advantage of 3rd Edition's quirks rather than as an actual archetype. It's going to take quite a bit to hack out the 3e mechanics while convincing the fans...

Arcane replenishment - can use daily power again?

Yes. Indeed, that is the entire point of Arcane Replenishment.

July and Beyond Article - Spellscars

I had this exact same idea of a multiclass-only pseudo-classes when the article for multiclassing came out. It's kind of an obvious design space, though, so I'm not surprised they went for it so quickly.

    Developer Talk = Gospel?

I can tell you I had lots of the same problems that the designers talk about (dominating spellcasters, hour-long summoners turns, everybody has the same six items or they're unable to contribute) years before 4e was announced. Also, it helps that I had abandoned 3e for exactly the problems they...

Artificer Up (Playtest Version, not Final)

I really like Arcane Replenishment. It's very artificer-ish. On another note, I do wonder how they'll 'fix' the interaction between Healing Figurine and Repair Object, because right now it's non-surge healing every round for one encounter a day. The artificer can recharge the idol and move it...

    Small wizard with a staff?

I agree; halflings lose out on swinging their staff as a weapon, but they can still channel magic through it.

D&D 4E Nonobvious coolness in 4e healing system

The thing is, not everyone likes the death spiral. Not enough to make it standard, anyways. I think it's a great spot for homebrew, though.

Compiled info on upcoming classes & races

This is never going to happen. 4e is specifically aiming to destroy the combat sucks/skillmonkey god dichotomy, and its counterpart. You don't get to dominate one arena by ignoring the other. The designers want everyone to be able to participate at all times. Now, if you personally want to...

    Magic Item Daily slots

Only the 'daily' powers of a magic item count towards the Daily cap. You can use the Encounter powers once per fight, and the Healing Surge ones as often as you want to spend a surge.

    Rapier is Superior?

Pact Blade is a class of magic items, like Flameburst weapons or Holy Avengers. Any light blade will do, and a rapier is a light blade.
