    Operation: Power Level Gary

We could simply give XP to the first 29 (uniqe) posters in this thread to keep it simple. Since I cannot see any post by Weem here it should be pure gain for the Colonel.

Nearing 100000 members - How did you find En World?

After mailinglists and the rec.games.frp.* Usenet groups I found Eric's site some months before 3e. Lurking a lot and being slow to switch over (took me several months to get a new user) Still reading at least every second day, but seems I'm closing down on 1 post a month. I need more free time...

    Pick Up Shoot Em Up

Feng Shui seems to fit well. (From Atlas Games, direct link to main product page: Atlas Games: Charting New Realms of Imagination ) A fast paced games with Hong Kong action movies as the inherrent setting. Fokus on cinematics (naturally) and story (in an action movie way). Has pregenerated...

London is Doomed: Mass Effect 3, Holiday '11

We should have enough to do until it arrives, though. We get Dragon Age 2 in March, The Witcher 2 in May, and Elder Scrolls V in November. Seems like a good year for RPGs on the PC, and that is only the announced big titles. Normally we get at least a few dark horses, DLC packages and...

What is the best computer game you have ever played?

What makes for a good game? In the list below I assume all genres are an option and that a good game takes time, requires effort and is not trivial to finish. Elite - A space trader and fighter game from the C64 days. Not the PC-version. The C64 should be available on emulator now. Both the BBC...

Good Old Games: Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment

I strongly recommend visiting Circle of Eight Forum - Powered by vBulletin (Circle of 8) and download some (most) of their fixes. The GOG version should be patched to v3, but adding Co8 makes the game much better. And they are (used to be) a very friendly and dedicated bunch :)

Running old games in Windows 7

:hmm::uhoh::eek::D:lol::lol::lol: I'm stealing that quote. If you want a proper reference (not just "Merkuri") send me a PM. Having spent many days removing the horrors that are installed when in-laws and relatives click "install" on the pop-up "You have a virus, install free virus scan now"...

Running old games in Windows 7

GOG released Baldur's Gate a few days ago, and promises more "Habsbro Licenced" games, coming up, so you might avctually get IWD in a few weeks. What you really pay the $5 or $10 to GOG for is that they have done all the work of getting it working on Windows Vista and Windows 7. To me at least...

    Beyond Combat; It's a Trap!

One trick I've been exposed to which turned the ordinary pit trap and arrow traps much more interesting was to turn them around. We thought we were going in (defeating the traps) but actually we were going out, so when the trap triggered, it target the rear of the party. The ones who looked for...

What does your ENWorld name mean?

I for once remembered that a name should be with a capital letter, and as I said when I married: "I may change my name for you, but my user name is mine forever." ;) So it's the name that has been mine since the old BitNet days.

    Funny error messages

I've lost my screen shot, but if you got an undefined error code (older) windows tried to be helpful by reporting: "Error! No such error!" And the ever helpful Ultrix OS from DEC had a bad habbit of "losing" parts of the user variables. If the variable lost was your userID "whoami" would return...

I need a list of RPGs based on (in)famous media!

Prince Valiant, The story telling game by Chaosium (1989) is based directly on the comic books by Hal Foster. A rare jewel which I still like. And somewhere gathering dust on my RPG shelves there is (used to be?) a game called Cadillacks and Dinosaurs from GDW based on the comic by the same...

    Stepping down

Here's what I get for having too little time on ENWorld lately. Thanks for great work Henry and enjoy the lessened burden.

    Dragon Age: Origins

I know (played it through twice) but it will take another (by the rumor mill, big) step towards being a pure FPS with a story, and I'm not sure I appreciate that. But it is still BioWare, so I'll buy it and probably grit my teeth and enjoy it ;)

    Dragon Age: Origins

Both major Norwegian tabloids have net-reviews today. 6/6 and strong 5/6 verdicts. I'll get it in the mail and will probably go (away) on holliday before I get to play. Cergorach: Dragon Age has been announced as a singel player, group based RPG since they gave the first hints 4-5 years ago...

    Appeal to Support EN World!

 I like that, but it's a bit much to remember (since paying with automated banking from Norway is donating much more to the banks than to Russ) so a monthly charge on my credit card is much better (since I don't have any extra charges on such charges.) With the current state of the...

    Appeal to Support EN World!

Maybe I just didn't find the answer, but what about those of us with subscriptions running far off into the future? Mine runs out October 2011... If I go for a new 3 dollar/month deal now will that mean I get billed from November 2011? And how does that impact the 1000 before new year? I...

    Aeon (updated 10/9/14)

Are you suggesting that a paranoid mage with extreme high thoughts of his own abilities and worth should hire a lesser being of doubtable intellect to modify his mind? Doesn't sound likely to me ;)
