    PHB 2 power creep

Sure, compared to most characters, the Avenger's ability to make an attack with two attack rolls really improves his chances of critting. But the ranger also has that benefit via just making two attacks. This is somewhat weaker in the sense that the ranger generally has two smaller attacks, so...

    PHB 2 power creep

An Avenger gets his attribute bonus to all his melee powers, yes. A ranger will usually be getting his attribute bonus more than once, since ranger encounter and daily powers (ie, basically everything but Twin Strike) generally hit multiple times with full attribute bonuses on each. Attribute...

    PHB 2 power creep

Hybrid dwarf clerics - while lacking a STR bonus, can take Plate and Axe Mastery with an easy 13 initial Con (no extra high stat surcharge) - make for similarly versatile clerics IMO. The minor Second Wind also allows for more healing to hit the rest of the group. Plus Dwarven Weapon Training...

    PHB 2 power creep

Most of the PHB 2 things seem okay - a few barbarian encounters seem rather problematic but those are the exception. AV - definitely without the errata, and even with it - along with MP seem to offer far more power, ignoring the revised math feats. AV opened things up with new superior...

D&D 5E (2014) Powers that last until the end of your next turn...

Not really. Basically, a UENT attack will affect the target for one of his actions and then your next turn. A save ends attack affect the target for one of his turns, and then has a chance hit for your next turn and his next turn (and then another chance).

D&D 5E (2014) Powers that last until the end of your next turn...

Granting a save won't work. There are some abilities that specifically remove condition X, or perhaps make it irrelevant.

    "Bruiser Brigade" & Fighter DPR

Yet you're still granting them the option to choose whichever sucks less at the moment, instead of taking something terrible and shoving it down their throat. And swinging at a battlerager, even one with a big weapon, isn't exactly a great choice.

    "Bruiser Brigade" & Fighter DPR

I agree. Counting on your enemies to stupidly give you powerful free attacks doesn't seem like a good plan. The strength of the fighter's OAs and CC is more in the deterrence than in the attacks themselves.

Paladin Hospitaler vs Beholder Death Tyrant

It seems to me that the wording is sufficiently different different from the normal mark/divine challenge that it doesn't matter if the paladin is being attacked or not. Marks trigger on not attacking the paladin. The blessing triggers on attacking someone other than the paladin. You might...

    "Bruiser Brigade" & Fighter DPR

The fighter's autodamage stances are more effective with a greatweapon fighter. The update to Marked Scourge makes Tempest somewhat less attractive.

    What makes a good sorcerer?

Because there are a lot of monsters that are flat out immune to poison, even at low levels.

Is Aegis of Assault the worst mark?

The problem with the Assault Swordmage is that I don't see how they can work properly without another defender in the group. But if the group already has a defender and is looking for someone to mess up the enemy backfield, then there are a number of other options that can have a similar...

    D&D 4E 4E Dragons - Where's the beef?

Really? Red Great Wyrm breath: 24d10 (40). That's an average of 132 on a failed save. I've seen 20th level wizards with more HP than that. The fighter is not toast (although that is a lot of damage). And that's a monster well above the party level. Moreover, protective spells could be...

Paladin Hospitaler vs Beholder Death Tyrant

The Hospitaler's Blessing destroys area attackers. That's probably the best thing about the PP.

Melee Training - Good or Bad?

I generally see Shifting, the occasional Close power, defensive utilities, and marking/other punishment effects as being sufficient to get ranged characters through the occasional melee. So a feat that helps in rare circumstances seems much less useful than something that helps more often...

    What makes a good sorcerer?

The sorcerer extra damage feature can add to several targets, unlike other striker bonus damage features. So areas or multi-hit powers can multiply the bonus. So usually, I prefer those sorts of powers on the sorcerer, especially since the damage difference usually isn't that big. But...

PHB2 general feats review (heroic tier)

The issue with Combat Medic is that it's usually much better to activate the second wind of dying character, rather than stabilize them. If the action is available.

Barbarian on plate, is it worth?

Well, not necessarily. How valuable your AC is depends on the defending power of the party, and other aspects of composition. Great defending (fighter with lots of bursts, let's say) will make your AC less useful. OTOH, a defender who only ties up one enemy at time will probably leave some...

Barbarian on plate, is it worth?

I think that heavy armor could easily be worth it. +6 Godplate = +20 AC +6 Hide = +11 AC Add in the barbarian's +3 AC/Ref from Barbarian Agility, and the Barbarian needs 22 Dex to even out versus plate. 22 Dex isn't exactly easy to get, especially for Thaneborns who would otherwise need Con...

    Avenger / Ranger?

Avengers have no weapon restrictions on their powers, so they're ordinarily best served by using a huge weapon. There's a big difference between an Avenger swinging an Executioner's Axe and one using daggers, and I don't think that the more frequent crits will really make up for the gap...
