The Best & Worst of 3rd Edition: SINGLE BEST Product of 3rd edition (poll closed)

I posted in the WotC Eberron forums. The members did the rest, I assume, although there aren't that many posts in that particular thread.

    New WotC PDFS!

Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil was released in July 2007. Today we have: Scourge of the Howling Horde Rules Compendium Rules Compendium is very tempting despite its price.

I voted for the ECS for that same reason. :P Actually, I voted for the ECS because it incorporates 3.5 wholesale, including planar and psionic campaigns whereas Ptolus, from what I understand, does not.

The Best & Worst of 3rd Edition: SINGLE BEST Product of 3rd edition (poll closed)

It's because it's a big brick that I never read it, and its cost has deterred everyone I play with from buying a copy, which means there's been no opportunity to play it.

Fantasy Art Staple That's Never Been Represented In-Game

I stand corrected, although the point still stands.

    Core Plus Eberron Plus One

I actually have adblock plus, and I totally forgot that you can add custom images to the block list.

    Core Plus Eberron Plus One

If you're looking to play a cleric, Faiths of Eberron might be worthwhile, though you'll get more mileage out of Spell Compendium I suspect. My current DM actually shot down MIC for my artificer. I wanted to make the revised version of the artificer's monocle printed in that book as it's...

Fantasy Art Staple That's Never Been Represented In-Game

A red dragon's breath weapon is a cone which is a burst effect that does not go around corners. Tower shields provide total cover from such effects, and total cover grants a +2 to reflex saves. So yeah, the d20 rules to provide mechanics for such circumstances.

    Core Plus Eberron Plus One

yeah it really depends on what you want to play. If you're playing an artificer, Magic of Eberron. Any of the Eberron races, Races of Eberron. A dragonmarked character, Dragonmarked. If you just want to mess with his plans for Eberron, get Races of the Dragon. :P If you are playing a cleric...

I'm really surprised by Unearthed Arcana's popularity. I've had a hard time justifying the expense of that book because I never use that much of it, only a few pieces here and there if that much. Additionally, since it's OGL, Jans Carton including most of its rules contents on d20SRD.org under...

    How About Some 3-D Tiles?

Isn't that what Map Folio 3-D was, as well as the free fold-up paper models? IIRC, people didn't take to well to it despite its $10 price tag. Go figure.

Tower shopping! For the wizard who has everything...

You honestly might want to check out the 3.0 Stronghold Builder's Guidebook. It might help to answer a lot of these questions. It also includes wondrous architecture and magic siege engines to help you defend your tower, too.

Bruce definitely took an overcomplicated approach to it all, but the money you save can be spent on buying things to offset the penalties.

    New WotC PDFS!

Besides all of the Eberron books, I'm personally looking forward to Spell Compendium, Rules Compendium, and Magic Item Compendium. Those are the books I reference regularly. Still gonna wait to see if they drop the prices.

I'm not a big fan of Tome and Battle, but that doesn't mean I go into threads discussing about those game mechanics just to dump on the system.

    WoL and Identify

Yeah they did, but then again most of the book is like that. Even if they didn't print that, that's how I would rule it. I also rule that selling a legacy item only yields 50% of the price of the item as per its nonlegacy game statistics.

Weapons of Legacy, p. 206: in other words, it only reveals the nonlegacy game statistics.
