D&D General An Atlantean Empire who are it's people and what are their capabilities?

For my homebrew, there are three major sea kingdoms Nydonna's Sea Kingdom - led by tritons, this realm has population of sea elves, merfolk and of course, tritons. They mostly live in shallower waters, using coral, seashells and metals that do not rust. They have a central city, similar to...

    D&D General Limiting Utility Cantrips

You're not imagining it. DCs are 8 + spellcasting bonus. Attack rolls are essentially 10 + spellcasting bonus, so you often have a +10% chance of success using attack roll vs. saving throw.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

If they hadn't thrown it out in the bin like they did Jeff Dee's art.

D&D 5E (2024) What Licensed IP Do You Want For 5E?

Why should I have to? I'd rather have something that uses D&D system than trying to fight against it.

D&D 5E (2024) What Licensed IP Do You Want For 5E?

On a positive note, I’d like to have a Redwall campaign style game. Not necessarily Bloomburrow, but something with anthro races build from the ground up and not trying to convert MtG to D&D (I was very disappointed with Strixhaven trying to shoehorn MtGs magic system to D&D).

D&D 5E (2024) What Licensed IP Do You Want For 5E?

Too bad, if that is the case. She doesn’t seem to like fanfic either, but in my opinion if you can’t handle your fanbase adding to or making stuff, don’t put it out in the public.

D&D 5E (2024) What Licensed IP Do You Want For 5E?

I used to want Dark Sun or Birthright, but after recent releases - I don't want WotC within 100 yards of either.

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

Is this another case of foot-in-mouth syndrome for WotC?

D&D General Which edition handled alignment best?

3E. It was supported in all aspects - class, spells, magic items, and everything else. Though 5E is worthy of mention by going past alignment to bonds, flaws and ideals.

D&D 5E (2014) What is the Deal with the Twilight Cleric?

For 5E, I like inserting the BS logic that since undead have ties to the negative/shadow plane they don't register to darkvision because that sort of vision is "stripping away the darkness*", and thus supresses the essence of undeath. * D&D has always treated both cold and darkness not as the...

    D&D General Limiting Utility Cantrips

That was done in 2E with the 1st level spell Cantrip, and it wasn't worth bothering with. I like having them as extra little tricks you can play around with without eating into the spell economy, but I don't want them to be unlimited in their use.

    D&D General Limiting Utility Cantrips

I've loved cantrips since I first encountered them in 1E's Unearthed Arcana. But I am not enamored with 5E's implementation.

D&D 5E (2014) Most Used 5E Rule Book (Besides Core Books)?

Xanathar's, or Monster Manual Expanded II. I'm hoping soon it will be my Bestiary Malfearous or Amberos Campaign Guide - working on revisions to both (rejiggering CR's for the former, reviewing/updating lore and reformatting for the 2nd).

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

I used to be a forever DM, but because I wanted to - and from many player stories I'd heard about other DMs, didn't trust other people to run the game. Though, every once in while I did get to do other games than D&D. I don't fit Matt's definition of "Forever DM", but I still feel the title...

D&D 5E (2014) What is the Deal with the Twilight Cleric?

Oh, I used to love the fact that for 1E/2E Infravision, undead didn't show up because they were the same temperature as the air around them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Am I missing something on 2014 rogue?

As long as the rogue is able to get sneak attack on their turn and is either using two weapons or getting advantage to better the chance to land a blow, they seem to be fine (at least for the levels I've played) in combat. Using strike-disengage-move out of melee gives you a longer life and...
